I live out of my pack all summer during my job as a backcountry national park ranger, i carry shovels, chainsaws, all types of trail maintainance tools. I'm also a climber and used this pack when i did Rainier this summer. I love this pack, i've owned 4 high volume packs before and not one other one has even come close to the comfort of this one, and my mountainsmith was the only one that was almost as burley but still not quite. I shreded my mountainsmith, broke the frame on my Eureka twice and my Lowe gave me bruises between my shoulder blades if i overloaded it. I overload my Dana almost every trip (65+lbs) and its only wear from an entire summer of daily use is some abrasion from a chainsaw i didnt cover well enough. Also its adjustability is great becuase it will widen for my shoulders and grips my hip bones incredibly well. My only gripe is that it doesnt have any side pockets for water bottles and they could have come up with a better way to hold an ice axe.

I LOVE THIS PACK! I lived out of it while travelling the world for 2 years, and carried anywhere from 15lb to 50+lbs in it comfortably up, down, and around mountains. The hipbelt was well padded and more comfortable than others that I've tried (especially for females with hipbones!) and the beaver-tail shove it on the back was great for strapping on anything from jackets for easy access to tents/sleeping bags when you're carrying an especially full pack. I was unsure if I really wanted to spend that much money on a pack, but it was well worth it! (and them some)

Customer Service

It hasn't been necessary to contact customer service yet, the pack has stood up extraordinarily well over the last 3 years. The lifetime warranty if there though if I need it.

This is definitely the pack for the small folks too. I'm 5' 2"", 92 lbs and this pack fits like a glove. Tried three different North Face packs and they gave me bruises. Since we been backpacking every other weekends, I decided to invest on a Dana. Never regretted that decision.

I'm a huge mountain of a man, 6'5"" 300lbs. but active. I have to choose all my gear therfore carefully. Kayaks have to have an extra-large cockpit, skis have to be extra-long, sleeping bags cavernous. So was I thrilled when the Dana Swiftcurrent that I had ordered from Northen Mountain Supply (great outfit!) arrived and fit me like a glove right outta the box! After dialing in the PERFECT fit (and there are MANY options on this beauty), the forty pound load I was carrying just sorta seemed to vanish as the pack and I sorta melted together. The construction appears to be flawless and bulletproof, even though mine was ""hecho en Mexico"". I am sorry that Dana chose to get gobbled up by the soulless K2 sports machine. Anyhow, if you're BIG like me, this is THE PACK for you! And a beauty to boot!

I have recently purchased a new DAna Design Swiftcurrent and it is the best pack I have ever had. I am 5'10"" and 140 lbs and you couldn't seperate me from my pack. I hike maonthly in many states and it works in all conditions excellently.
