I purchased one of these about 5 years ago and it is still going strong. Plenty of room for all your gear inside but if you run out you can get side pockets and lash sleeping pads to the outside. I feel very confident with this pack, I never have to worry about my balance because of a shifting load. A friend of mine has the same pack and he also loves it. I know for a fact that the frame is very strong. 2yrs ago in the Catskills my friend sprained his ankle, so I tied his EMS 5500 to mine to carry all our gear out(over 100 lbs). When we got to the car the pack showed no signs of distress, I wish I could say the same for me though. One other great thing is EMS has a 100% satisfaction warranty, so if you don't like it bring it back.
