This was a closeout on REI outlet.com and the price was great for such a large capacity backpack so I bought it without even seeing it in person (last time I do that!) I have taken 2 2-night trips with it and I am returning it. The pull cords were very sticky, the mesh water bottle pockets have ripped and they don't really hold your water comfotably or in a way that you can easily grab them. I also felt like the pack was not sitting right on my torso...the weight would shift suddenly. Now I believe it is because of the huge amount of space (that I never needed). I have bought a Lowe Shiroco and will see if it meets my needs! Bottom line...if you need almost 6,000 cu in...this might be a good pack but it probably won't last forever

I'm like most women in that I love to go camping and fishing if I can have some of the comforts of home, such as a toilet, and a shower. Well Banyan Industries came up with what they call "A complete toilet facility in a bag" which includes the Packin Potty and their Privacy Tent. The bag that carries both the Tent and the Toilet is only 2 ft. x 2ft x 4 in., small enough to stick behind the seat. The Toilet looks like a briefcase and is about the size of it when it's closed and it opens to a full size toilet. (Very comfortable-no wobbling) They said that both of them set up in seconds and though I had my doubts, they were right. Even a woman can set them up by herself. You can use the Tent for the portable toilet as well as a shower (they sell that too)and the best part is that the Tent has a floor with drains, so I don't have to stand in mud during my shower. The portable toilet comes with a solution that instantly eliminates bad odors (and it really does) and when the bag from the toilet is full, I can throw it into any trash container. It's really a great system for anyone who enjoys the great outdoors and doesn't like public bathrooms. Now when my husband says "let's go camping", I'm right there with him. Whether you're a woman or a man, it's nice to have a toilet facility no matter where you end up. I really think that anyone would enjoy Banyan's products, the products perform just the way they describe them on their website.

This pack seems like a great deal, and was for about six months. Now I find myself questioning its durability. Two of the zipper cords have ripped off from a gentle pull. The fabric on the waist pads have ripped open from constant rubbing from the shoulder straps. While the pack is quite comfortable, the straps don't always keep tension in the buckles and the straps have to be readjusted every few minutes. It is a great inconvenience. The pack is also very large and only rides well if it is filled almost completely, making it inconvenient for short trips.

this pack has grown from a mildly unpleasant surprise, to a rather frustrating zen test in self-control. during the first trip taken with this pack, i discovered that the stabilizer straps above the shoulders gradually lost tension, resulting in the pack slipping farther and farther away from my body. every 15 minutes or so required an unwanted restop and readjustment. at first, my zen was up to speed- i merely thot to myself, "well, on the bright side, i don't have to readjust the pack on the trail to relieve stress on certain muscle groups- the pack does it for me!" however, after the 3rd trip with this pack, the situation has become ridiculous. the 15 minutes of tensions has now become a heavenly memory. now i have to stop every 5 minutes to bring everything back in order. this would piss off a monk.

in addition, i have left several messages on the eureka customer service website asking for pursuable options (exchange, repair, advice) but have never received an answer. oh well, i guess i should just burn the thing and meditate in the fumes of burning nylon...

Pack has some nice features but overall I was somewhat disapointed with it. A pack at this price should have at least a floating lid, the Eureka doesn't. Durability is questionable as well. After one year of use, it had many frayed seams. It has now been replaced with a Kelty Slickrock.

I have had this pack for about a year now, I have logged in two overnighters and three muli-day trips. So far I am quite happy with it, lots of room, good adjustments(no problems with slipping straps), comfortable. It seems to holding out very well.My last pack was my Canadian issue rucksac, this is a lot more comfortable, although a bit on the heavy side.
