I got this pack last summer for my b-day and finally got to put it to the test in the Adirondacks this summer. It's an awesome pack as far as I'm concerned. It has lots of gear loops on the outside, to attach almost anything. It's short frame (the small version) fits me perfectly (I'm 5'1") with lots of straps for adjustments. With so many pockets to put stuff in, you almost don't need any stuff sacks at all. I love the pack and can't wait for many more backpacking trips to come!!! The only con to the pack is that it took me a while to figure out all the straps to adjust the pack on my back. As soon as that was conquered, I was golden.

I got this pack because it had a good chassis, and was the size I needed. I used it on a hike on the coast, by Lake Ozette, and it preformed admirably. There were several sections that required climbing over some large rocks and one place where one had to climb up a steep hill using a rope. The pack stayed close to my body and it was very easy to keep my balance. The chassis was very comfortable. I found the bungee on top was very convenient for storing my layers, and the tent pole pockets are a nice touch. The sleeping bag container is a bit small, and there are no external straps to attach a sleeping pad. More compression straps would also have been nice. It is a good value. Most similar packs cost $25-$50 more. Good for intermediate range hikers. Like most intermal frames packing it could be tough for a beginner, but it is comfortable.

I just got back from a traverse of the Presidential range and this pack performed great. Good size, wieght. Stayed comfortable the whole time. Could be a tiny bit bigger but good enough for me.
