I've had the 75+15 pack for 11 years now.
First purchased for a hiking trip, it did a great job.
It has since been used for a huge variety of trips and moving. It survived 4 years of me as a camp counsellor.

Once you get the straps adjusted properly the load is really well distributed. I've never had a stitch pull out.

For extremes, in University, I travelled from my parents place to my new home with enough gear for the bag to weigh in at 120lbs, the bag took it just fine.

The bag has been dropped in lakes twice before, and nothing in the pack got wet. It's definitely not waterproof, but it did a great job of water resistance.

My Frontier 75+15 is the best piece of backpacking equipment I own. I'm a fairly small guy (150 lbs, 5' 9"), have had the pack for 6.5 years, and have probably taken it on 25-30 trips (ranging between 2 and 10 days).

I have typically carried 40-50 lbs in this pack with comfort and with relative ease compared to others I have backpacked with, who have almost always carried less weight with more difficulty (and who are generally larger folks than me!).

The harness and APS system is well designed to distribute weight, and is also quite durable - this is one of the few pieces of equipment that I haven't needed to repair or replace after as many years of use.

One consideration when reading any of these reviews (including mine): no pack will fit everyone well, no matter how much it is adjusted to suit your body... and this can mean the difference between a good review and a bad one. This pack happens to be perfect for me, but it might not suit you as well.

On this note, the Frontier has a removable hip belt, which can presumably be replaced with another belt if the provided one does not suit you. I don't know if Lowe Alpine provides replacement options designed specifically for this pack, but several other brands do. However, the shoulder straps, while removable, can probably only be replaced with another set of straps designed for Lowe Alpine's APS system (if you examine the pack, you'll see what I mean).

This is for Frontier 65+15. Wow, first pack i've owned with the APS system. very nice. a lot more snug and comfortable than my last backpack. Not very fussed with the lid, but it does its job. to me, the side pockets mean little, if you fill them, its an bad balance I think. survived multiday trips around lake district, snowdownia, and penine way. Very very good pack for the price.

I have been using the ND55+15 for about a year now and i'm quite happy with it.
The APS back system is very good and I rarley have any back problems ( and i DO tend to get very bad back problems when using bad backpacks)it is also very easy to adjust and the straps can be quickly reached while walking. This bag has a very big "hat" which is very convenient (though can get too heavy when you stuff it).
This bag is ND (women's) so the shoulder straps are smaller and thinner.as a woman I don't find this helpfull at all and it makes the bag less steady and harder to pick up when full ( and women usally have less arm power then men).
Another problem is when you open the "hat" things tend to fall out due to a very low zipper.

I bought it for about 200$ but this is the price in Israel and I guess it is much cheaper in the US.
Overall it is a good backpack for 3-4 days hiking.

I recently bought the Lowe Alpine frontier 65+15 after I saw it in a store and after reading Alex (from Greece) review. We can not be speaking about the same pack. I have used it (on and off trail) during a 3 night backpacking trip with a 45-pound load. The quality of the pack is extremely good and the price is even better. The air mesh on the back, hipbelt and shoulder straps works very well in keeping you cooler. The back length can be adjusted in 1-inch increments. When I put it on my back it feels very comfortable, solid and you do not feel the need to lean forward. This is because the pack stays very close to tour body which reduces the torque. If the pack is full you may not have space around your head to use a big hat. A baseball cap is the best thing. The adjustment straps really work and run very smoothly. If you are looking for a strong, comfortable, adjustable, roomy and inexpensive pack then the Frontier might be the one for you.

This particular pack should probably be the worst ever built.Put any load more than 20 pounds and you'll need a spine surgery. A total failiure. The hipbelt comes in one size, so does the shoulder harness. That's enough to make you feel uncomfortable.
