I have used this pack for about 15 years. I haven't used any other internal frame pack. I'm ready to buy another one because the shoulder straps are uncomfortable for me and always have been, the water bottle pouch is a joke and the bottle too small, and the pack doesn't have another compartments. It's been OK, but I hope there's a better women's pack out there. I have liked the removable fanny pack.

I am 5' 1" tall woman (mostly torso) and the Isis is the perfect pack for me! :) Before I finally settled on it, I borrowed my husband's old Kelty internal-frame pack, rented a Lowe Scirocco (sp) and tried an external frame pack, but all of them had *something* that was just not right. The Isis answered all those problems. I didn't have any chafing anywhere and finally I had a pack that fit in the shoulder area. The floating lid is very useful and also I've found a way to make the hydration pack work well, it just takes a little ingenuity. The Vector compression system is WONDERFUL! I used it to hold wet clothes (to dry them) and what have you. Generally a great backpack.

Got this pack for my soon-to-be wife. I showed her the Gregory Forester and countless other packs, but they just didn't fit her right. This pack fit her like a glove even before she had it adjusted correctly. The sleeping bag compartment is a little ungainly when zipping it up, but it's a useable size. Also, the zippered removable divider inside the sleeping bag compartment is overkill. A lot of time and energy went into that removable divider....for no good reason. The water holder is really stupid. It WILL hold a water bottle, but it's unstable. She uses it to hold small items; It works well for that. The interchangeble Vector attachments really kick!! It makes the pack very versatile. It's nice and stable as long as you pack it correctly. All-in-all it's a good multipurpose pack. It's pretty tough, and I expect it to last a lifetime of moderate camping and backpacking. It was very important for me to get her a pack that fits and works well for her. Otherwise, I would be backpackng alone. Because who wants to go backpacking with a uncomfortable pack? This pack fit the bill nicely. One more thing, for anyone wanting to get into backpacking, go to your local outfitter to get a pack. You may pay a little more but you won't be sorry. My fiance tried on many packs that she would have ended up hating. I'm convined that this pack is the only pack that will fit her, and I never would have considered getting her an osprey pack until now.

THis is a great pack for someone who wants a nice fitting pack. It is a a good size pack for week end to week trips. I could have gotton any pack for under $500 and I choose this one.

The Isis is a wonderful pack for women- the narrow fit made backpacking in rough terrain much more comfortable than other packs I have used. Interchangeable belts make finding the right size easy, too. It is large enough to fit several days' worth of gear while at the same time is construdted of top quality material.

The Isis is a bit narrow, resulting in top-heaviness. I would normally wear a small hip belt, but need a medium in this one to keep from bruising. Osprey was agreeable and speedy in replacing the belt. It's been quite durable, and the shoulder straps are comfortable.

I have "borrowed" this pack on climbing trips where weight savings was critical. I have not been impressed with the design or the comfort.

The hipbelt bruises me pretty badly. This could just be a poor fit, but my wife complains of the same thing.

I know that Osprey are considered to be really good packs, and the construction is bomber. However, the narrow front to back dimension and the radical curve of the pack makes it difficult to get much in the pack bottom, and my head always hits the top when I look up. The delrin sheet is too flimsy to prevent this. The plastic water bottle holder is just about worthless.

For the price of this pack, I think you can do a whole lot better.

The Osprey Isis Backpack fits my body excellent as if it was apart of me. I enjoy being able to take off the the top for just a day hike to carry food and other items. It is also a very attractive backpack and you can tell the material is very well quality. To spend the amount of money that I have on my gear I felt that I got a great price on my backpack for excellent quality. I would be glad to refer friends to Osprey back packs.
