This pack is frickin' huge. I did a couple of two week long trips last summer and there was plenty of room in the pack for all my food, etc. I was the only one without a mess of stuff hanging off the back of the pack. great price too. On the other hand, if you're not going for two week trips, this pack may be a bit too much bad.

Customer Service

REI is generally really good for customer service, though I haven't had any experience with regards to this pack.

I've used this pack extensively the past two summers, and found it to be very durable. It's able to hold more than you'd ever want to carry, and reasonably priced.

This pack rocks. I had been told by several people that REI products should be avoided like the plague, but they must never have tried this pack. It's huge, but it can carry 75+ pounds comfortably. The suspension system is very easy to adjust, and the hipbelt is very comfortable. I recommend this pack to anybody, including serious/extreme mountaineers.

Customer Service

I have no experience with REI customer service, but this pack is so good, I haven't needed them. Also, how they make this pack only $200, I don't know. Must be cheap labor or something.

I found this pack a little unwieldy for the petite camper. Actually, while the backstays were adjustable to the right height for a short person, the shoulder harnesses did not adjust inwards, and so I found that I couldn't put my arms down by my sides! I would suggest that a small person look for a backpack that has more contouring on the shoulder straps. Otherwise, this is a good pack - easy to organize, well balanced (if you pack it right, of course)

Just returned from a week in the Alaskan tundra where I lugged around about 65 lbs. in this pack. It really is huge! And when you venture into heavy brush the slim design rarely snags a thing. One note of caution, I'm 6'1"" and weigh 200lbs., while this pack is great for me, I really don't think it would suit someone with a small frame.

the more i use this pack, the more i love it. im only 5'9"" and it fits me fine. i can cinch it tight with a small load or expand this beast for a backbreaker load that will carry very well and wont even get me off balance. i recently got to use the fanny-pack-top and it is also huge. i could pack with that in summer. this bag is made even better by the price.

Customer Service

rei has never questioned any of my requests, they just get it done.
