I flyfish alot of backcountry lake in the Sierra Nevada mountains. This is by far the best large capacity day pack that I have ever used.

The compartment is big enough to carry my float tube (deflated) and my waders.
My fins are strapped to the outside of the pack. The space between the outside side compartments are just he perfect size for my flyrod tube. The top and side compartments have ample room for some food, Gortex and some flies.

I have owned mine since 1995, one of the best investments that I have made.

This is a great small pack. I get all my climbing gear and use the side pockets for water. I can stuff more between the main pouch and the floating top, a definite plus. I like the lid pockets. The small one is perfect for keys and things you want to get out of your pockets. I've been using mine for almost a year now, with no significant wear, and I do use it fully every weekend. Great pack for the bucks. REI rocks.
