Hits: Large hipbelt - weight transfer to hips more effective. Good balance in rough terrain. Detachable top cover (functioned as fanny pack for around camp daytrip). Missed: Shoulder strap to small. No top cover strap (to reduce the space in case not enough stuff inside) Water bottle pocket too small.

After shopping around to fine a pack with sizes to fit us mesomorhic types
(6ft/200lbs)I found the Sentry. After trying it on and finding the cool pockets tucked behind the hipbelt I was hooked. I used it on my 1st trip, a Yosemite High Country 5 day loop and was very pleased with the fit and size. I started out with about 45 lbs and it distributed the load very well. It has all the straps, bells and whistles of a high quality (read $350+) pack for a more affordable price.
