After years of hauling everything but the kitchen sink with my 6000 cubic inch no-name pack, I've findly found the right pack for me. The North Face Vigor earns a 5/5 from me for its functional design without the unnecessary do-dads you see on other packs today. Going from a 6000 CU IN pack to the Vigor wasn't a challenge, but a true blessing. Measuring in at 4000 (4500) extended, the Vigor forced me to think light weight and forget the extra everything I never used anyway. With my tent and sleeping pad securely attached, I ski, climb, hike, (and car camp but don't tell anyone) with renewed enthusiasm. The suspension and padding system are the most comfortable I've ever used. My back and shoulders (and knees) have never felt better after a week on the trail. Superb!

Customer Service

I've always counted on Sierra Trading Post and The North Face for superior gear with the best warranty in the market.

The most bang for the buck. I purchased the Vigor for women, and unlike many packs I tried, I have freedom of movement, the hip belt feels great, and the shoulder straps are cut (really!) for a smaller framed person. Frame system is super comfortable, and seems to distribute weight very well, leaving no stress spots on my back at all. Lots of compartments, HUGE sleeping bag compartment on the bottom.
