Worked on a winter research project in Yellowstone and needed a versatile pack that could stand up to everyday use. Definately the most comfortable pack I've ever owned, although I paid for it, but not any more really than alot of the other top line products.

The fit and load support is perfect. After snowshoeing for miles every day I was always suprised at how much weight I was carrying when I took it off. The only part that could be improved was that the tension straps between the top of the pack and the shoulder harness attach toward the center of the pack and could rub your shoulders occasionally, depending on the load.

The materials and construction are the best, in -15 degree weather the rubberized zipper holds are a godsend. It always has a place to strap extra gear or clothing to the outside if needed. I have seen some wear on the back pad (probably because they didn't design it for being strapped to a snowmobile for 3000 miles).

I would recommend it to anyone for days of winter technical work or play. Depending on your gear it could work for several day hikes as well.

Customer Service

Sent a couple emails and tried calling before I bought. Never got ahold of anyone or heard back.
