I LOVE THESE BOOTS. They are the greatest foot wear. I bought them in 1994 and still wear them (2005). I just bought Asolo boots to replace them but I still wear my Vasques when I don't want to dirty the others. Highly recommended by roof repairs west auckland company.

Strength:

I have had mixed results with these boots. I wear them all the time in cooler weather around my town, and they are great at keeping out water and just being comfortable. However, in the one hike I took with them they, like someone else mentioned, wore holes in the back of my heels. Check this https://www.instagram.com/222aloha_photobooths for more info about us!

Weakness:

Haven't returned them and don't think I will, but might buy something else for some serious hiking.

my feet and the toes when I was hiking for more than ten km. Used the boots for approximately 100 km hoping to brake in the boots but this never happened. These boots are almost new but I can't wear them anymore. Basement Repair in New York City, NC

Weakness:

I can't find any weakness.

I originally bought a pair of these back in the 90's for $180 and they were awesome. A few years ago when I saw Sierra Trading Post had some on sale for $50 I snatched them up for a backup pair. Last week I decided to start breaking them in. I took them to the woods and within 2 miles both soles had completely fallen off to include the plastic supports!!! I had to hike two miles back to the truck in a riduculous looking pair of "moccassins" as I was only walking on the insole and the cloth of the inner bootie. Asolo was no help and told me that it is "normal" for the adhesives in technical boots to break down over time. Normal? I will stick to more traditional leather stitched boots that I know will last. I will never buy anything from Asolo again. Let this also serve as a warning if you own a pair not to be completely reliant on them if you plan any long hiking trips. Bring some Tevas as backup!

Customer Service

Asolo's customer service was completely unhelpful and unsympathetic. I couldn't return them to Sierra because I didn't keep the receipt.

I live 100' from National Forest so I put alot of miles on my boots in everything from boulder fields to scree and nice packed trail. These boots lasted me 3 weeks. The upper was peeling away from the sole, 2 lace D-rings had torn free and there was no trace of tread left on the soles. I took them back and they said I could get another pair but not something different. They are now in the trash.

Customer Service

They did what they could do. I was unwilling to try another pair so not much experience there.

At initial purchase point, these were the most comfy shoes in the store. They seemed plush, and fit my feet extremely well. However, once on the trail, and after a lengthy break in period, they still have not really broken in and that is based on the plastic cuff found on the intial year offering of the Meridians. (They did correct this the next year.) The ankle pain really cuts in and is fairly painful to downright excruciating. When you have to cut up a pair of socks for the tube to place on your shin, in addition to moleskin, that''s an obvious design flaw (that they have now corrected.) Once you read my customer service exerpt, you''ll see why i''m sort of venting. Anyways, ankle down they were great. Great fit for my foot, excellent waterproofness and abrasion resistance. Never had to use moleskin once (ankle down). Excellent thermal insulation on snow, collar height good for heavy packs. Love the pulley lacing system, and inner boot concept. Cons - stinking plastic cuff. High rand at forefoot flex area separated and I cut V notches to alleviate this. Also heel footprint could be a little larger..found my self sinking to much in muck. Comfort is paramount in any boot you buy. This one wasn''t, due to plastic cuff. I did not try the next years offering, but have heard that it is a vast improvement. If the Meridians fit you biomechanically, they could be one of the best boots in the category.

Customer Service

In reading other experience on this site and others about the original Meridians, decided to finally do something, as they have been sitting in my closet gathering dust due to discomfort. I sent 4-5

The Longitude IIs fit my narrow, low-volume feet nicely. Break-in time was minimal. Very supportive with generous padding and a well-cushioned midsole. Easy to waterproof with Tectron.

Customer Service

I was thru-hiking the AT when my first pair's outsoles failed prematurely. Asolo sent a new pair (no problems with these)to the next town. Great service! The second generation of Globalines is much improved over the first.

i ended up purchasing a pair of latitudes b/c i had wide feet. the boots themselves were extremely durable and made well, but for those with wide and flat feet, almost every boot is a living nightmare. i would have to say that those people with the same problem i have shouldn't go to this boot, but rather one of the other full leather asolo boots...one that might stretch out better for those with flat feet. i find the outsole of the boot to be advantageous and not at times....great protection, but the boot doesn't stretch as well...

Customer Service

the customer service people were very friendly and knowledgeable of their products. i called them up and told them my problem and they gave me an answer quickly and efficiently...without wasting my time
