These boots went back to the store after one hike. Lace hook was pulling out of the leather. Insole of one boot rode up on my heel. Replacement boots in same style and size fit very differently. They are painful out of the box (the original pair felt great at first?!). Replaced insoles with Superfeet, experimented with lacing, still can't get proper fit. Can you say refund?

One word - DISAPPOINTMENT!! My local yuppie techno outdoor store recommended this brand/model as excellent value for someone who does day packing/light hiking. Picked them up for $150 CDn. I guess you do have to pay for value. After 50-100 km experience I find they leak through the toe area, are exceedingly uncomfortable after only a few hours and they tend to overheat in warm weather. Admittedly they are not gore and they are inexpensive but I wouldn't waste my time with this model other than for brief walks with the dog. Am going to replace with either Vasque Sundowner or Montrail Moraine.
