This is a shoe that can handle street and trail. I would wear these shoes every day (if I could wear them to work). They look good with casual clothes around town and can handle moderately rough trails if you do not carry much weight. The cordura and leather construction is very rugged. The sole is grippy and stable. The shoe breathes well and my feet stay dry. The laces are slippery so you need to use a double knot (or something better than the knot I learned in kindergarten) to keep them tied.

I wear these shoes almost daily to work and when hiking with my son. He's an 18 month old 30 pounder that I end up carring most of the hike. We usually go about three or four miles over hilly terrain. The traction with shoes is great, and they are comfortable enough to wear daily. I've had them for about four months now and they are showing very little wear. They are probably a little over built for what I use them for. But I expect them to be around for a long time.

I emailed back and forth with Danner's customer service department before ordering the boots. They were very quick to respond with answers to whatever questions I asked.

Bought pair of Danner Mt. Lts. number of yrs ago. Knew Danner quality. I have funky feet(wide) and toe probs. Most boots rub somewhere. Did not have a hot spot anywhere right out of the box. Thought they might be too narrow but after a few hrs. they fit like they grew there. What a pleasant suprise! Quality like the old days w/ stitch down const. My next boots will be Danner, I assure you.
