These boots felt SOOOO good when I tried them on in the store, but were a complete disaster when I actually hiked in them.

I got horrendous blisters from them. At first, I figured that even though they felt great out of the box, they just needed to break in more. But after over 100 miles, they were still mangling my feet!!

The totally wetted out during a hike in tuolomne meadows in late spring snow. I've never had a brand new boot get completely saturated like that during a short hike with only limited exposure to snow. A good coating of nikwax fixed that, but that kind of treatment normally only needs to be applied after the boot has been worn for a while - not when it's brand new.

Overall, I'm extremely dissatisfied with these boots. The design and the initial impression looked so promising! At least they were inexpensive...

Scarpa SL, Garmont Odyssey, Asolo -- all much better than these crappy boots
