Day Hiker

My first boots without ANY breaking in time. I selected these out of about 12 pairs as best fit to my wide flat feet. Right on my first hike they performed outstanding - no blisters at all! I usually have blisters with any pairs of new shoes even running shoes, so I could hardly believe it. I thought this might be because of too soft and weak materials of the upper part and this might result in a short lifetime. After 7 months of regular use they are still without a tear or hole so now I know they are also durable. Very good design, comfortable, waterproof as much as a leather boot can be. I hiked 12 hours in rain several times and they still felt dry. Soles also give tremendous grip on slippery terrains. My next pair of hiking boots will be the same La Sportiva Tundras!

I purchased these boots for 80 bucks and I believe them to be a great value. They are constructed of Nubuck leather and the uppers are crafted wonderfully. The inside has cambrelle lining to aid in the breathability of the boot. These boots also have a gusseted tongue to keep out debris. One of the features that I first noticed about these boots was how stable they were. From the moment I put them on, I noticed how supportive they were. Upon closer inspection and looking inside of the boot, I noticed the attention to detail in the footbed and interior of the boot. This boot also has a removable insole which was important to me. The reason why this boot is getting four stars from me, is that I belive the forfoot could use a little more cusioning. It was a little rigid for me.

Customer Service

I have not dealt with the costomer service but upon searching La Sportiva's website, they seemed to be a very commited company with high standards. I was also impressed that there boots were made in Italy and not in a third world contry
