Incredibly versatile approach boots. I've found these great for easy rock climbing, aid-climbing, and approaches. The rubber heel and toe rands add excellent grip and protection from rocks. I sized mine snug and they edge quite well. The heel does rub a bit due to the heel rand. Consequently I'd have to recommend these only for approaches and climbing. Carrying a heavy pack with these boots on is not recommended due to the relatively soft uppers. other than that, they are the best approach boots I've seen.

What a great approach boot! My feet found every hot spot within the first
17 miles. After a half dozen day hikes
they are thoroughly tried and true.
I wore them w/ an extra heavy pack for an assault up San Jacinto Peak and would suggest a boot w/ a little more
lateral support.
Overall an excellent value from LOWA.
What ever happened to the Alspitz?

Customer Service

I was a bit concerned when my boots didn't show up readily [e-commerce],
but a phone call from LOWA put my mind at ease.
