These boots are the most comfortable ones I've ever worn. Seriously. The break in period for me was about two weeks, and after that the boot had molded to the fit of my foot. With a little waterproofing after breaking them in, these boots are ready to handle anything. Similar Products Used: None |

This is the first pair of Merrel's I've owned and am very pleased. The construction of the boot is flawless and cannot forsee any future problems with ripped out stitching. Great boot. Similar Products Used: Rockport Asolo |

excellent boot, got mine last year and broke them in on a 25 km hike with a full pack - not one blister. No complaints in the 6 months following. I would buy them again. I did put in aftermarket insoles though - although I never gave the ones they came with a chance. Similar Products Used: None |

After using the boots on a day hike at the Northfield Mountain trails I found that they were very light and comfortable. As it was only a day hike I can't tell you what they would do for a person on overnight or weekend trips but for dayhiking I found them to be one of the best shoes I've used. No complaints from me about them. I was a little worried about the traction of the soles, but they seemed to hold out fine for the climb I undertook. Thanks. Similar Products Used: None |

Overall a good mid/heavyweight hiking boot. After a full season of daily wear off-trail, my ankle padding rotted, the sole stitching is beginning to fail, and the shallow lug sole could use replacing. However, the uppers are still going strong and I was admittedly a little harder on them than most. I have also found that the tongue could use a little more padding -- the top of my foot always ends up sore and no amount of lacing adjustments could seem to fix the problem. I also replaced the stock insole with a pair of low-profile superfeet insoles (killer!). In general, if you don't wear them the way I did they are an excellent boot. If you plan on spending all of your time off trail, consider a pair of high boots like White's (what most smokejumpers wear). I would always end up with a load of scree in my boot at the end of the day. Similar Products Used: None |

These tough boots are great for foot protection. To be honest, I bought these boots because they were the cheapest ones on sale in the store near my college 9 years ago ($70). I water-proofed them with wax and actually bought them about a half size too small, because I forgot to factor in the thickness of wool socks for winter hikes. Even so, these boots rock. I have had them now for 8 or 9 years (mine are brown, but otherwise are just like these). I used them for fire-fighting in Florida and my feet never got too hot, and were well protected. I have hiked up snowy mountains in the Olympics, and although the boots are really too short for deep snow, I was poor and my feet stayed warm enough with wool socks. Rocks pose no obstacle to these boots... I hardly noticed them. Never got blisters. I have never had to repair the boots. For a while I wore them all the time because they were so comfortable once worn in. So, I recommend these boots for Spring, Summer, and warm Fall, but get winter boots for snow and extensive rain. They are tough and good in rough terrain. Not the greatest ankle protection, but I never had problems. Easy to lace. Last as long as your feet stay the same size. Customer Service If I did it again I would buy them a half size too large and wear wool socks year round. Similar Products Used: None |

I have had these boots for 4 years now, and every time I wear them I am amazed. I thought I was crazy to spend so much when I bought them, but looking back, I would have paid twice as much. Just the best boots around. Similar Products Used: None |

Nice boot for the money. I have owned mine for 6 years now. They came waterproof which has been great. It took months to break these boots in. I will probably just get them resoled. Customer Service no experiance Similar Products Used: None |
