I have owned these boots for 8+ years and would definitely buy another pair. They have held up to multiple weeklong+ backpacking trips without wet feet, minimal hot spots or blisters after the initial breakin period. I use Superfeet insoles due to low arches and flat wide feet. The leather forms and molds to your feet. The tops do scuff easily but only adds to the patina of the boots. Definitely two thumbs up.

Customer Service

Soles are definitely getting worn, am torn about getting them resoled or just upgrading to a new pair.

I have had these boots for about a year now. The break in really fast and seam to be totally water tight, but i have not had them in super wet weather yet. The only thing i dont like. they could be a little snuger in the heel area. but i would still rec them to someone they are a great boot.

I'm on my second pair of Sundowners, and would recommend them to my friends who backpack. Good support for a narrow foot, tho it comes in wider sizes. Excellent on trail with a heavy pack, and also aggressive enough to take some serious abuse in loose off-trail scampering -- the beveled surface where the heel strikes grips well on steep downhills, too. The GoreTex liner bootie is key. Only small complaint: the sole tends to separate from the leather right where the toe flexes. Doesn't seem to hinder performance, but irritating. Also have to say they've gotten damn expensive ...

Great boots. I have worn out two pair. Comfortable and protective. Can't go wrong with these. Loved em so much I am saving up to buy another pair (poor college student).
