Nice pair of midweight boots. After having problems with the sundowners on an A.T. thru hike this year I traded up to Superhikers while in Harpers Ferry. From there to N.Y. I have had no problems. Break-in wasn't bad and resulted in no blisters. Luckily I went to a wider pair of boots for a better fit. While hiking long distances an individuals feet will grow in all directions, thankfully the Vasque company gave full credit for boot trading. Especially since each pair of sundowners had slight flaws which resulted in foot damage. The superhikers are worth the expense--wish I had started my thru-hike with them.

Customer Service

Combined with an honest and experienced outfitter, the costomer service is excellent.

I have an older version of these from maybe 4 or 5 years ago and they are still kickin'. Well made and stitched quite well. Everything has held up although I do need to get them resoled but don't wear them as much living where I am now!

I'm presently wearing these boots as I sit at my desk - that's how comfortable they are. I wear them to work, to church, to concerts, and of course on the trail, and I can't complain about anything. I bought mine at Sierra Trading Post for about $130, so of course I'm going to think they're probably an even better value. Honestly though, I've probably one a pair a Vasque boots 700 days out of the last two years, and I can't really find anything I don't like about them. Sure, they're a little expensive, but you'll wear them. I talked to a friend last night who was crying about the fact that his employer had put hiking boots on the "no" list for office dress - meaning that his Vasques were heading to the closet till hiking season. If you like to wear shoes, you'll love to wear Vasques.

I purchased my Super Hikers several months ago for a sixty mile hike that I just completed along the Buffalo River in Arkansas. The boots performed very well. They stood up to the rain, mud and frequent stream crossings and felt completely broken-in by the third day out. The boots come well above the ankles and offer a secure, comfortable fit. As I have rather wide feet, I am limited as to the boots that will fit me. I would not hesitate to buy Vasque Super Hikers again, however, I plan to be using my current pair for several years to come.

Customer Service

I have not had an opportunity to contact Vasque customer service, however, I was pleased to learn that Vasque will resole these boots for $50.

I own an early version of these boots called thru-hikers. It took months to break them in but the pay off is that these boots have proven to be very durable. I've used them heavily for 4 years now with no sign of any stitching problems and the original soles still have a good season left in them before they'll need to be replaced. The gore-tex has never let me down even after multiple days of walking in deep powder, accept no substitutes. They are not very insulated though but smart wool socks make up for that. Overall I couldn't be happier.

Had an early model of these Gore-Tex boots for 4 years and they've been fantastic...saved me from many twisted ankles countless times. Very comfortable once broken in...totally durable...just now do i need to get them resoled. Excellent boot for backpacking.

Great lightweight boots, with a good sturdy feel. It is possible to order in various widths for those with fat flat feet. Waterproof if you take care of the leather
