These boots were very good- waterproofing was perfect as i expected with gortex, my heels never got twisted like they did with my old vasque boots they gave quality support even with the numerous types of terrain i hike(snow, forest, granite, dust)my feet didnt sweat very much they were breathable and my feet were comfortable besides my toes which was the one problem with the boot i got mild blisters on my small and big toes but they werent a big deal this were still a great buy. Much better then my old vasque clariton gtx boots. Similar Products Used: VASQUE CLARITON GTX- this boots were not as good i twisted my ankle in them and leather did not hold up it got chipped away easily which is what i have seen happen to my other friends vasque boots blisters were about the same with these boots only mild |

I read all these and still bought the boots... and I'm very glad I did. At first I was worried, because I did develop the hotspots on my heels that other reviewers were complaining about, but then I loosened the laces and my Civettas went from blister-boots to camp-slippers (this was with liners and thick Thorlos). I did 200 miles over a month in the North Cascades and Pasayten Wilderness and these boots did fantastic. Similar Products Used: None |

I own the GTX Civetta II's and have had them for a year. These boots are easy to break in and yet give plenty of support. They are EXTREMELY comfortable and the traction and durability of the Vibran sole is excellent. I use these boots for extended hikes, day hikes and snowshoeing - perform well in all these activities. These boots have a large toe box which makes them ideal as a 4 season boot - you can add very thick socks in the winter and still have room to wiggle your toes. There are very few seems on these boots which should insure durability and better waterproofing. To enhance this I added a sealer to all stiches before Nikwaxing. Customer Service I returned a pair of REI Spirits to exchange for these boots. The Spirits became uncomfortable after a year, REI customer service were very understanding and offerred full credit towards the Civettas. Similar Products Used: REI Spirits - also owned for a year. The Civettas, however, are definately superior and will last me many more years. |
