The Widgon series TERN is a slimmer cut mummy designed for colder weather. Mine is an older one with Gore-tex with removable down collar and the ability to move the down from top to bottom (warmer or cooler). With the slim interior and high loft of this bag, you can go into real Winter cold and still be warm. This bag is worth the money as it will be the last bag you'll ever need to buy. The company will make sure it perform that long with great service to keep the bag going!

Dryloft Tern, long, overstuffed. Great bag. Consistent stitching and finishing throughout. Simple, efficient design without gimmicks. Narrow cut gives it good warmth/weight ratio.

Customer Service

Excellent. Feathered Friends responded immediately to my email question. They had an unstuffed long tern in stock. I told them how much down I wanted and a few days later it was at my doorstep.

This is the second Feathered Friends bag I bought. The first was a Rock Wren liner. I would not buy a down product from any other company. I am 6'4" tall, 225lbs. The tall size Tern fits me perfectly. I got the Dryloft option to fight off the moisture in tents and snow caves, but mainly because I'm sometimes a klutz with pots and cups of water off the stove. I went for the 800-fill power down option, rather than the standrd 750-fill. Is there a difference? Who knows, but it makes me feel better. I also had them add two oz of extra down to the foot section to keep my feet warmer. I love this bag, can't think of a bad thing to say about it. Except for the trim cut, which I can justify by the lower weight, this is the perfect winter bag for me. The stuff sacks that come with FF bags are too flimy, though. The handle at the end of mine ripped out the first time I lifted the bag in its stuff sack.

Customer Service

The people you get on the phone when you call Feathered Friends sound pretty, well, laid back. I wondered both times if I was actually going to get my bag. But both times, no problems. I think they just have a really good time up there in Seattle.

The Tern is slim cut mummy designed for colder weather. Mine is the Gore-tex version with removable down collar. Due to the slim interior and high loft of this bag, you can really sweat it up even in cool summer nights. The workmanship is supurb and the quality of goose down is unsurpassed. If your looking for the best all around 4 season bag, this may be it. This is not my first Feathered Friends bag. The quality has been consistant. If you want a little room to move inside the bag, you might want to look at their peregrine model. They can and will do just about anything you request with down and nylon that you request on custom order basis. It is worth the money.

Customer Service
