I used this bag on a 15 day Alaskan camping trip. It performed well up to my expectations. It stayed warm when it got wet, and it dried out quickly. Very comfortable. The others in camp were jealous of its plushness. A great bag for the $$.

The only down side is that it is a little hard to stuff and doesn't stuff down as far as some.

Serria Designs makes quality products with well thought out designs. The Sandman is no exception. It is comfortably roomy and has what is probably the best designed hood availible. The 15 degree rating seems about right. The overall quality of of construction is very good, I rate the bag to the highest standard of Eastern Mountaineering. I am very happy with my purchase. It is warm, well made, lightweight for it's outstanding features and stuffs small.

I'm what you call a fidgety sleeper, so I couldn't wait to try the new flex system incorporated in the Sandman bag. It's everything the company claims it to be. I had no problem sleeping on my back, fetal position with my knees tucked up or on my stomache.

The polarguard 3D insulation kept me warm in late fall, although i did notice a slight chill on my toes which was easily remedied by wearing socks.
All in all, a great bag and worth the hype!

Excellent bag. I cannot say how durable it is since I have owned it for only a few months. I have been in 10 degree weather and I was still very warm. Very comfortable and lots of room to move around.

The Sierra Designs Sandman is the by far the best sleeping bag I've ever owned. I used it while summiting a peak in Southern Oregon. We encountered some very harsh winds and snow. I put my ice chunked pants in the bottom of my bag. By morning they were dry and like brand new. I also slept like a baby. I would recommend this sleeping bag to everybody and anybody.

Great bag, light and wonderful to sleep in. The first time I slept in it the temperature dropped to 15 degrees F. I was a bit cool but able to tolerate the evening. This bag is light and well worth the money.

The sandmand is a great bag. I liked the warmth and the hugging feeling it gives... i do wish that the chin area was softer. if you lay on your back your chin is directly touching the webbing like zipper guard... not the softest thing in the world. I also found that the zipper was weird to get used to... the way it zippers up at an odd angle... if you are looking for a bag to backpack with there are better alternatives... this bag is very large and heavy for the warmth

NOTE: THE LONG VERSION IS L O N G DONT GET IT UNLESS YOU ARE AT LEAST 6FT 4IN TALL! i am 6ft and had pleanty of room even with my elbows over my head.

One of the things that I really like about this bag is that the Flex system really is all that it is cracked up to be. This bag stuffs pretty small in the supplied stuff sack, especially given that it is roomier inside than most other mummy bags. The temperature rating is dead on. This bag is actually warmer than some that I have tried with a claimed 0 degree rating. I really like the "fluffiness" of the Polargaurd 3D. I also really liked all of the available hood adjustments (face opening and crown size)

The only thing that could be improved on this bag is that it is about 0.5lb heavier than most of the other models in its temp/insulation class.

This bag is overall the best that I have used.

I am extremely happy with this bag. One of the best investments I have made. I've camped in this bag in NH White Mountains from 10 degrees F to 65 and was dry and snug the whole time. Very roomy and extremely warm and lofty for being only a 15 degree bag. My only complaint is the hood is a little odd shaped and doesnt quite snug well enough. Also its a little heavy for a 15 degree bag but the warmth/weight ratio is well worth a few more ounces! In short, BUY IT if you want a teriffic go anywhere 3 season (4 season down to 0 degrees) sleeping bag.

This bag was made for me!

I am a big guy and move around a lot when I sleep so I was never able to sleep well in a mummy bag. When I heard about the Sandman I was skeptical but checked it out anyway. I was instantly sold. I crawled in, zipped it up and had all the room I needed. The only position I couldn't get in was one leg straight and the other bent. The only thing that kept me from buying it on the spot was the $200+ price tag, but with a little shopping around I found one for less. It keeps me warm and dry and I can move around all I want.

The long was a little hard to fit in my pack but a Granite Gear compression sack fixed that. If you are a lightweight freak then this is not your bag. Personally, I am willing to carry an extra pound around if it allows me to sleep comfortably.
