I have the women's version of the bag - The Blue Igloo. I found the temperature rating to be fairly accurate, and I've even taken this bag snow camping (nothing below 20 deg F though). This bag seems like it was custom fit for me (I'm fairly petite), so I love it. I've noticed North Face bags tend to run a bit narrow, so someone with a bigger build would not feel comfortable in this bag. I also like compressible and light this bag is.

This was my first down bag. I bought my blue kazoo back in the 80's and mine looks completely different than the one on the market today. Mines all blue and much thiner. The bag is very warm, may be too warm for some summertime weather, especially if it's here in Texas. I use mine for summer early fall camping in Colorado and it works fairly well. The only thing I don't like about it is the sharp end of the feathers sometimes poke through the ripstop material and thus fall out. Also on mine(i dont know about the ones made today) it has very little padding so a pad is neccsary. And the thing I don't like the most about it is limited girth it has. I'm a somewhat skinny guy and I like to toss in my sleep, and the kazoo seems very thin on the sides. With my arms inside i have less than an inch of room to move around. i began to feel confined or bound in the night, which is pretty frustrating. Overall, its a decent bag, i just hope the ones out now have been changed slightly to ones they made in the 80's.

For about $250 CDN this is a great bag. I was kept very warm in this bag. The coldest I've experienced was about -6C and in the bag I was toasty. This bag has a couple handy features. The bag has a slot where you can stuff clothing in to create a pillow. Also a small sleeve is located at the chin area to insert your watch, so it can be used as alarm clock. The best piece of advise I know is to buy a silk bag liner for your new purchase. This will add numerous years to your bags life. If you don't use a bag liner the natural oils from your skin collect on the down filling. This reduces the life of your bag and creates unwanted odours!

The bag was on sale recently for $99. That was a big draw, but the bigger draw was weight and compact size. This bag compresses to about 5.5"" X 12"" or smaller. Easily fits behind the seat of the sea kayak. I sleep warm, and also wear polar fleece pants and top . . . no tangles, and I don't have to pack a liner. Socks keep feet warm AND also keep the toenails from snagging the bag. Rated to 20 F and should work well at that level. The bag is designed for three season and not snow camping, hence no collar. I've had no problems with snagging the zipper, but then I guide my zippers with a thumb. Other reviews don't mention that the baffels are open the full width of the bag. This allows the down to be ""swept"" to the topside of the bag for greater warmth when coupled with a lot of insulating sleeping pad under the bag. The down can also be swept under the sleeper in warmer weather to provide the benifit of a lighter bag. Ventilates well, hood well designed, pretty snug around the torso, but not constricting. Black liner should add warmth. Comes with a large stow bag for loose lofted storage. I rate it tops for compact, light packing in three season applications. It's not a winter mountain assault bag.

This bag is a good multi-purpose bag. I have thoroughly enjoyed the down bag, even in the rainy northwest and have added to the bag's warmth by utilizing a vapor barrier liner. This has allowed the bag to become a four season bag. I like that this bag was light-weight before the light-weight fad AND doesn't cost as much as many of the bags of similar weight.

Overall I'm happy with this bag. For the majority of the times that I've used it, it's been great, but it is without a doubt a 3 season bag. 40 degrees and below tempatures aren't nearly as warm as I'd hoped they would be. This is a great bag for anyone who loves to get into the woods for the weekend if it's not freezing... no pun intended...

I have had a blue kazoooff and on for a number of years & it never lived up to expectations. I I find it somewhat lacking. The down fill is very thin & tends to clump. I do not think it lived up to it's rated temperature.

One of the bags I use during my summer job as a Backcountry park ranger in Olympic Nat. Park i have several bags to choose from in or cache, if its available i use the Blue Kazoo because its one of the lightest bags we have and its temp. rating is good for the parks summer conditions. My own personnal bag is a North Face Goliath, i prefere this bag because its incredibly huge inside, and warmer for climbs on snow, although it takes up alot more room in my pack.
For those who are backpacking in the northern parts of the lower 48, this would be a good 3 season bag. Also its a good idea to keep a plastic bag around it inside its stuff sac to keep dry in wet weather.

I've had this sleeping bag for a good 4 years now and it gets the job done. So long as you stay within the set tempurature rating, this is a great bag. I've found that when you dip a bit lower, you have to start stuffing spare clothes, filling up the empty spaces to keep cozy. I dished out for the down bag and it packs remakably small. The only complaint is the occasional feather that pokes through indicating loss of some loft in the long haul. But until then, i'm quite happy with this purchase.

I purchased my Blue Kazoo about a year ago and used it through the camping season this year. I ended up selling it because I got a long and left-hand zipper, neither worked for me. Nevertheless, it is a great bag and highly recommended. I would get in one before buying it because it is a little narrower than a regular TNF bag.
