I have two of these bags. I have used them from high altitudes of Colorado, to
low area in Scotland, Iceland & Czechoslovakia. In out-performs any other bag I have ever used. TNF is the
best gear. People state that fibers are
better when wet, so, keep down dry and sleep like a King! That is like saying
"freeze-dried foods taste better with water". I used to use REI's stuff--no more, they are not what they were like
in the 70's when I joined them. I am a former special forces marine and have tested a multitude of gear. Only thing close is British Snugpack, which is only for weight saving. Happy Trails.

This is a well-built sleeping bag. It is very lofty and warm. The details such as the no-snag zipper and hood are well designed. I would recommend this bag for temperatures slightly above 0F.

I bought this bag last year. Last summer I spent 3 months living in the woods of Alaska. This bag was great because it is light and was the perfect temperature for the type of weather I experienced. I would suggest anyone buy this bag if they want a well designed lightweight bag.

I have 2 superlights that are from the mid 70's...I bought the first one for a winter trip here in Missouri and a couple of years later bought one for my wife so we could zip them together(tho to be truthful...I could not sleep like that...it was just just way too hot} Anyway...we have used these bags all over the midwest and into Colorado...always slept warm...love these bags...we use them as comforters in the house in the winter too.

Customer Service

After 20+ years...these bags developed some cold spots with no loft due to ripping loose of the internal baffles...I returned them to north face and they repaired the baffles, inserted new down, and fixed a few small tears for only the price of cleaning the bags...I had washed them before sending them in...but I hear that California laws are stringent on cleanliness...It did take the full six weeks to get them back,...but they warned me about that. I think they have great customer service...They also replace a Stowaway goretex jacket once that the zipper failed on...

Great down bag for the price ($180). The 0 degree rate is fairly honest depending how you sleep (i.e., warm or cold sleepter). The material on the zipper baffle is a great feature which prevents the zipper from getting stuck. As with any bag, you have to evaluate the temperature range you will be sleeping in, as you will find that this bag is too hot for milder conditions (probably anything above 30 degrees). I find the watch pocket very handy, not only for my watch, but for storing ear plugs (in case of windy conditions or snoring tent partner).

Customer Service

I have had no problems with the bag, but in dealing with TNF customer service department on other issues, I have found them very accommodating.

With northwest weather, I am always careful in my selection of gear... especially sleeping bags. I have had this bag for nearly a year and used it for the last half of last years climbing season. It has served me well in the time I have had it. The features incorporated into the new design are GREAT! ( watch pocket, chevron baffles, draft tube, etc..) I was overly impressed with the "catchless" draft tube; this is a feature of the outer fabric of the draft tube -- it is designed not to get caught in the zipper. Overall an excellent bag for mountaineering or 4-season hiking at a moderate price.

I recently purchased this down bag on sale and have had the opportunity to camp with it. It has met and exceeded my expectations. Superlight and compresses down to nothing. I do mostly car camping, but stay in a tent at a river site. If you can find these on sale, buy it. Not too confining and was warm down to 37 degrees. My bag is rated at 0 degrees and I would imagine it would keep me comfy to 10-15 degrees.

No experience with TNF customer service.

I have found the North Face Superlight to be a fantastic bag. It's incredibly light and at zero degrees it versitle enough to cover any situation.

Great bag. If you're in the market for a down bag, you should look at a superlight. Packs small, light, warm, durable - I've had mine over 13 years!

Customer Service

No experience with sleeping bags, but with other products it always been fare, quick response/small fee

I used the superlight in the Eureka Redwoods on loan from a friend. It's great to bring along if your tugging a trailer behind a bike due to its light weight. It kept me warm enough during the chilly Eureka summer. GOod job!
