Have used this bag at Helen Lake on Mt. Shasta and was toasty. Temps were around 30 degrees. Used it at Rock Creek in winter with temps around 15 degrees and needed some extra clothes to stay warm. Excellent bag for temps down to 25-30 degrees. Love how small it can stuff, and super-light to boot. Highly recommend.

Some coleman special from Target

I used this bag on Mt. Shasta. Temp inside the tent was 28 degrees and I was toasty. Because the bag doesn't have a Dryloft shell like my WM Puma Super DL, I put it in an Outdoor Research Dry Loft bivy bag. Adds 12 oz. to the overall weight and makes it a bit warmer. The bag stuffs to football size, is really light, and is perfect for expeditions to not so cold places.

Western Mountaineering Puma Super DL

My wife and I are experienced backpackers and chose Megalite's as part of our continuing quest for lighter pack weight. At 1 lb/10 oz & a true 30 deg rating the Megalite's quality and size will please you - especially if you like larger sized bags. I'm 6'2" & 195 lbs. We have two SD VanWinkle's and appreciate space but wanted to shed the weight. Our other choice was a WM Mitylite. The Megalite won out because it has a 64" shoulder girth, 4" of loft (1" more than the Mitylite), and has a hood. We like the extremelite fabric - it's cool in summer and warm in cooler climates. The Megalite is superior to other manufacturer's ultralite bags - in size and the fact that it also has a full length zipper - which does not snag. Others may only have a half zip - or none at all in the same weight category. The zipper was a consideration for quick and easy exits - we're sometimes in bear country... The Megalite packs down to half the size of our previous down bags. The quality of workmanship is exceptional. It also looks good - handsome eggplant (WM calls it purple) and black. My wife is in "color heaven" cause it matches her Osprey Luna 75. We bought the Megalite's on sale at Travel Country Outdoors for $229.00 - retail is $295.00.

The Travel Country people are very helpful. As for Western Mountaineering - the quality of the Megalite is so high I doubt if we'll ever need to contact them with a problem.
