Western Mountaineering Sequoia Sleeping Bags

Western Mountaineering Sequoia Sleeping Bags

DESCRIPTION

This is the perfect bag when you need the room of a semi-rectangular bag with plenty of warmth. The hooded Sequoia has 7" of loft from 30 ounces of 750+ fill power down and is rated to 10 degree F. The wide 66" shoulder girth and 48" foot has plenty of room for the anxious sleeper.

This could be the last winter bag I ever buy. It's a hybrid : a semi-rec with a collar and hood, and as I like more room than a mummy it's perfect for me. Typical WM high quality workmanship and materials. Rated +5, it kept me toasty at 10 and with a liner would likely take me down to 10 below. The only drawback is that it's expensive, especially since WM has discontinued the taffeta version (which I have); the microfiber and dryloft models list at well over $500. My other WM bag has lasted ten years or more with only basic maintenance, if this does as well I'll consider it money well spent.

Customer Service

First rate with advice. I've never returned a product and so can't speak to turnaround or pricing.

THIS BAG ROCKS! I purchased it through the shop I used to work at. Western Mountaineering makes the best bags out there! PERIOD! They only make sleeping bags, only make down sleeping abgs, and only make high end down sleeping bags! They don't mess around with all the other junk on the market. The Sequoia is one of their roomier bags. It is still technically a mummy bag, but gives more room inside at the foot, middle, and torso. I chose this over a more traditional mummy bacause I liked the extra room. WM tend to be very conservative on their ratings. What i meanby this is that this bag is rated to 5 degress F but is probably good to 0 maybe even slightly bellow. That is also with out overstuffing. The only possible con is that it is a little pricey, but good gear like this is worth the high cost!

Customer Service

The customer service is great too. Since WM is a small company though sometimes it maight take a while to get your bag. I snagged my bag a put a hole in it once and they re-stuffed it and patched the hole. IT took maybe a month or so. THey say when you order a bag though it could take sometimes even 2 or 3 on the long end months. SO plan ahead
