I bought this pad because the long version is lighter than my 3/4 self inflator. First, I sleep on my side and I found that my hip bone poked through. Second, the links the manufacturer put on the pad to link it to other pads are all over the wilderness. At the end of the first day of hiking through thick brush I was missing several of the links and the pad had some nasty gashes. On the plus side it seems to be an excellent insulator. I never felt the cold ground unless I rolled off the pad.
