This is a great little stove. It packs nice and is very versatile. It cooks quick which saves time. I've never had to think about if the stove will perform or not. This little baby is money! I even dropped in the river and after it dried out it still worked like a charm. I'ved used it extensively for two summers and one winter, and it's still like new. Definite bang for the buck. Go get it!

I used this little stove on Mt. Whitney for 5 days, cooked for 3. Although we had other stoves with us, we never lited one. This one worked so well. Always easy to light and kept on going even when water froze in our tents.

I love this stove! It is cheaper than most and far easier to use. While most people are still assembling and priming their stoves, I have water boiling or am already eating. All you have to do is snap it on the fuel tank and light it. The only potential areas for concern are: 1) Cold - apparently if you camp in extreme cold, you should keep the tank in your sleeping bag. Otherwise, you may have a hard time lighting the stove in the morning. 2) You can't re-use the tanks. The are very cheap, but not re-usable. 3) It is hard to regulate the flame. There are a couple of settings, but basically it is either super hot or off.

A great little stove. Lightweight and reliable. Very easy to set up. On the downside, this stove isn't a great choice for extremely cold weather (a trait shared with most other cartridge stoves), but it's great for three season use. One minor criticism: the stove heat control has only three settings. All of them run too hot to allow controlled simmering. But, if all you're going to do is boil water for freeze dried foods or make coffee, this model is a great pick. I especially like the stability -- the stove burner is suspended by a three point support stand -- much more stable than the Gaz Turbo 270.

A fast, hot, safe, simple, economical, reliable & convenient stove. The Tristar is incredibly stable and is pressure-regulated, so if you do manage to tip it over while it's burning you won't get the fireball that most other gas canister stoves will produce. It also adapts very well to fit a Trangia cookset via my no-skills homemade sheet-aluminium mounting plate! The only downside to it is the 3-position control knob. It would KBBT if it had multi-adjustable control. The Coleman Backpacker with its anti-flare system is about the only stove that rates with the Tristar.

In Australia, Camping Gaz products are supplied by Coleman who are just great with spares & service.

I had used MSR stoves for years and was always disappointed with the mess time and effort required to prime and maintain these tempermental stoves. I took two stoves with me to Costa Rica on an extended backcountry tour. the MSR stove was left behind due to clogging problems with kerosene. My Gaz tristar was used every day! It is easy, dependable and I have been able to find cartridges for it in every country i have been to from mexico, to spain, to south america!

This stove is a snap to set up and is very stable for such a small package. I have winter camped with it, but I think naptha works better in the cold. It has 3 preset settings rather than a variable control and tends to run hot, hotter, and hottest.
