The stove is simple and robust. Even when it's freezing there is no problem getting it to work. Not important but nice is that it makes little noise compared to other petrol stoves.

Customer Service

I have it for 6 years now and it was perfect during the first 4 years. At that point I had its generator repaired and from that moment on it is under constant repair. Everytime I get it back from Coleman's Service Center something else has broken down. Latest is that the valve doesn't entirely closes anymore so it keeps leaking gas. The concept of the stove is good, but Coleman's service is terrible, or at least here it is.

This was my first white gas stove after getting back into backpacking. It's an uncomplicated stove which requires no priming (just pressurization). I have had absolutely no problems with this stove and have used it in the winter and summer. It simmers well and boils water quickly. The only problems which I have with this stove are bulk and weight issues. Personally, I think this stove is probably better suited for family camping, canoe trips, and short overnighters.

I bought the repair kit for this stove but, thankfully, have never had to do anything with it. Repairing this unit in the field could be a problem.
