MSR WhisperLite Internationale 600 Stove Stoves

MSR WhisperLite Internationale 600 Stove Stoves

DESCRIPTION

Whether it's white gas, kerosene, jet fuel or automobile gasoline, the Whisperlite Internationaleâ„¢ takes it all and burns it easily. The secret is in the large diameter fuel line that lets you burn poor-quality fuel with less maintenance or cleaning than other so-called multi-fuel stoves. Like the Whisperlite Shaker Jet Stove, the Whisperlite Internationaleâ„¢ features a Shaker Jet needle, which automatically pushes out any excess fuel debris with a simple flick of the wrist.

Great for international backcountry adventures, backpacking, mountaineering, kayaking and camping

Windscreen, heat reflector, fuel pump and reusable stuff sack included 14 oz. (400 g.)

An excellent stove for anything requiring you to boil water. Extremely reliable; it only would not work once, after which I beat it with a stick. Then I figured out the next day that it was my fault for not switching the jets when switching fuels. Oops. Light, strong, and field repairable, you can't go wrong with this stove, as long as you don't plan on doing anything too gourmet.

I had my first whisperlite blow up due to the fact that I hadn't lubed the O-rings (so make sure to keep them oily!), and they gave me a new one for free, which was sweet since it really was my fault.

A great stove. Versatile and light. Burns almost anything you put in the bottle. Just be careful with dirty kerosene. I have had some trouble in developing countries.

You can also rig this stove up to be like an oven. Find a large rock, balance it over the burner ring after it has been lit and drop your bagels on it. Cover with a sheet of aluminium foil. Works great. The stove burns so hot that your toast will be ready in a minute or so.

To clean prime the stove, carry a bottle of denatured alcohol. Fill the priming cup with it. Much better that the sooty black mess you end up with.

Excellent stove. I've used it internationally as well and it works well with unleaded gas. Simmering is difficult but can be resonably done by ajusting the fuel flow from the fuel tank.My sove has been used many, many times and still performs well.

I have found this stove to work extremely well. It is easy to prime, burns hot, and can be brought down to a medium simmer. Unlike stoves with canister fuel cells, this stove works well in cold weather. This is a great stove!

Used a variation of this stove since 1988 in a variety of circumstances including multi week treks in Spain and Costa Rica...This stove is a pain if you asked me. Clogs a lot, undependable, gets dirty fuel all over the place. I do not recommend it unless you are going to be camping in very cold weather otherwise use the Camping Gaz Tristar...dependable, a better value and I have been able to find Gaz cartridges even in the most remote areas of Central America where finding clean fuel for the MSR stove (I took both) was not possible.

I have owned this stove for about 4 years now. I take it on about 4-5 trips a year, and so far have used only white gas as fuel. I have had no problems with operation to this point. I have two small problems with it. When priming on a cold day (with gloves or numb hands) sometimes too much fuel gets into the cup, and really flares up. This can happen even w/ appropriate amount of fuel. Also it is a little unstable on uneven surfaces. I usually try to find a flat rock to balance it on. Other than those two complaints it is a great stove. Also I have not done any maintenance on it other than wiping it off w/ a clean rag to remove soot. Definitely a reliable, lightweight, stove for any use.

The Whisperlight International is an incredible stove. It is completely trail servicable and it operates very smoothly. I've been very impressed. The only problem is that it is hard to simmer.

Excellent stove that's simple and lightweight. This stove, when used with the reflector, cooks very efficiently. It is a tricky (and dangerous) stove to use until the priming technique is learned.

A good stove, very light and HOT! Takes some practice to get the hang of lighting and cooking without scorching everything. This is a great stove for backpacking due to weight.
