I used this stove for a 2-wk Colorado Trail summer trip at an ave. elevation of 11k. The stove performed flawlessly, but beware: the higher you go, the more the "self-sealing" cannisters leak pressure if unscrewed, leaving a dead can full of fuel. I had to pack with the cannister and burner left attached, making sure the valve couldn't open enroute. Dicey! Similar Products Used: MSR Whisperlite on previous CT trip: a hassle to use and little control of output heat. |

This is a good stove especially for the price. It is very light weight and provides a good heat. The main advantages are its price first and weight and effectiveness second Customer Service I haven't had to deal with this company as of yet. Similar Products Used: I like my Coleman feather 442 stove - with its dual fuel capabilities, flame control and one fill-up for the weekend. Although it weighs a little more, for a day hiker it does me great. |

Great Stove for the money. The stove itself takes up almost no space when collapsed. The one I got doesn't have the piezo-electric starter, but from the comments of friends whose stoves have that ""feature,"" it doesn't work that well so it's no great loss. Pretty fuel-efficient. After five days of moderate use, the fuel cannister is still not empty. Similar Products Used: None |

This is a great product. I have used it for 10 full days this year. It packs away very small and light. I store all my cooking gear and stove and fuel in one tiny stuff bag. I put the fuel cannister and the tiny windscreen inside a 4-cup size Titanium pot, the stove folds up and slips into a Titanium mug, then the pot and the mug go into the bag. Similar Products Used: I have not used other stoves, but looking at specs, this one is clearly the smallest and most convenient. Personnaly I try to hike thru every hour of daylight and after that I do not what to mess with fuel, priming, and assembling small parts. |

This stove is very small, light and easy to use. No mess, no priming. Screw the fuel can on and fire it up! Fit's inside my small cook pot to take up less space. I've had trouble with the fuel (the Primus butane/propane mix) in -20F and colder temps. It tends to not work at all. Heat output also goes down with temperature. Can't beat it for summer though. I bought this last summer for a 5 week kayak expedition 'cause I didn't feel like having white gas sloshing around my feet. Customer Service I called Primus to ask about the leaky bottle syndrome. They told me it wasn't a problem! I asked the lady if she had ever experienced my "non-problem". She admitted she had never been camping. She told me a technician would call me back - one never did. Excellent stove for general-purpose outdoor cooking. I can't attest to its performance at extremely low temps, but we've had it out on wet, fifteen degree mornings and it works flawlessly. Lightweight, no fuss, quite stable with any reasonable load- it would still be a great deal at twice the price. More equipment should be this simple, effective, and elegant. Unless you're into extremely cold/technical outdoor activities, I cannot imagine that this stove wouldn't serve your purposes well. |

Just about the most reliable (and lightest) thing in my backpack. Only takes a few seconds to assemble and begin cooking, and doesn't seem to use much fuel. Similar Products Used: None |

I agree this is a great stove. I had a MSR multifuel stove. I said good-bye to priming and the MSR stove forever. I takes about 30 seconds to set up the primus stove and start cooking. It comes with or without the piezo lighter, I think the lighter is a great value for the extra $10-12. Similar Products Used: MSR wisperlight |
