I have 5 different stoves from Coleman to Primus to MSR to Giga Power and something else. The Giga power is by far my favorite. I wish I would have taken it to Afghanistan rather than my MSR multifuel. It is so lite and tight I can take it anywhere with basically no weight concerns. I hike the Oregon Wilderness extensively usually off the trail system and the Giga power stove fits inside my MSR cook set and is always ready. I carry matches and a lighter to ignite. The only drawback I have found is that the fuel is not available everywhere. You need to know how much you will use. One canister gets me by for seven days.

This is a perfect little stove. Extremely well built, easy to use, tiny and very light weight at just 3oz. It offers lightning-fast boil times, simmers wonderfully and for me, has been very fuel efficient. At a recent trip up to Twin Peaks in the Anegeles National forest, where the wind was blowing very hard and at altitude, it performed beautifully. I carry my stove, a mug, a small canister of snow peak fuel, utensils, wash cloth, lighter and spatula in a Snow Peak 1400 titanium cookset and together it weighs less than a pound. By the way - I think the one poor review below has more to do with user error than with the GigaPower stove. Cheers.

This is an excellent little stove. It weighs practically nothing and works like a charm. I've used it to cook all sorts of things, in weather all the way down to teens conditions. The amount of flame adjustment really helps for simmering up some beef stew without torching it to the bottom of the pot. Setup takes about 6 seconds, if you include rummaging through the pack to find the little invisible bugger. I even installed the autolighting attachment, and it works fine.

Easily the best canister stove available. I chose this model because of its low price and weight. My experience with the auto lights have been unreliable so I stuck with the standard model. Also this model is the 2nd lightest stove made, behind only the titanium by 1/2 ounce and nearly half the price I must say. Unbelievably tiny!

This is by far the best stove on the market. It is very light, simple to use and packs small. I've used many stoves through the years, and when you add it all up this one is the best. At one time I even owned seven (I have a problem) stoves. It has amazing flame control and is quiet compared to most stoves. I would definatly recommend this to anyone looking to go light and easy.

Customer Service

These guys are very polite and answered all my questions over the phone. Including my concerns on a wind screen, they are even going to send my one free! They are even collecting empty fuel canisters at the Mountain Shop to be recycled!

i went on a four days three nights hiking trip with thirteen other people. we all used the giga power stove and all but 2 had something wrong with it. the pilot light went out on all of them but two. everyone burnt themselves when they tryed to turn the flame down. you cant balance a pot no it very well. when your putting the gas on the stove you have to make sure that the stove is off, other wise when you start to put on and the gas starts to leak. it gets hot fast but when you go to turn it down you end up turning it off! this gets to be a pain in the BUTT! from my experience with the giga power this is a worthless pice of junk!!

Bought this recently for weight reduction of pack...I'm down to a 22 pound pack for 3-4 day trips in moderate weather. First time use was a breeze. Fired up with no hesitation and produced a good flame. The size is amazing and the weight is almost non-existent. Would reccommend this to any moderate weather backpacker...Haven't tried it in cold weather yet
