I was looking for a lightweight daypack that I could also use for quick overnighters. I've always been a fan of Gregory products and I wanted to stay with there line of products since I already own a few of their larger packs. Before purchasing the Fury, I took along the gear that I plan to use and it all fit perfectly. Total weight came to under 20lbs. The sale person was impressed with how I was able to fit everything inside,i.e., my Mountain Smith Vision sleeping bag, ClimbAxe Bivy, Therm A Rest UltraLite, 0.9 Titanium Cooker, MSR Stove, 11 fl oz MSR fuel bottle, First Need Water Purifier, Northface Gore Windstopper jacket, etc. I like the large mesh pockets, which fit my two 48 oz Nalene Cantene w/ hydration tube.

Great summer day-pack with room for extras. I don''t care to load over 20 lbs. in it so I wouldn''t over-nite in it, myself. The best thing about it is the easy access to everything in the bag via the zippered mesh panel behind the exterior pocket. Even easier to get to stuff than the side-access zippered bags. Good support, decent hip belt and shoulder straps. Only comes in small and medium so it''s not great for longer torsos. I''m 6-2 215# and it''s a little short for my frame (which may be why it''s uncomfortable over 20#). The straps are all a little too long so when you have it less than full, there are straps hanging everywhere. A pretty small complaint that a pair of scissors and a lighter could remedy pretty quick. Overall good pack for the price.

Surprisingly tough! Though lightweight in construction, this pack has put up with a lot of abuse from me. I've used it as my "training pack", loaded with pillowcases of round stones and clothing (for padding) so that I can get in an uncomplicated 10 miler in with 40 pounds. This is more than Gregory recommends, I believe, so YMMV. Before hiking, it is loaded with my college books and some extra clothes, kicked around my basement, and dragged from the car where it is unceremoniously tossed daily. No rips. No popped seams. BUT, do yourself a favor and use the hipbelt. The shoulder pads are thin and lightweight, and not really comfortable when carrying over 30 lbs unless you cinch down the hipbelt.
Something I have always loved about Gregory packs is the HUGE mesh pockets on both sides and the infinitely adjustable top pouch.
Overall...very solid construction and excellent attention to detail, especially considering the low price.
