I've used my 2200 for numerous activities from snowboarding, climbing, overnight camping. This pack has held up beyond belief! I now use it for my school backpack, and have bought a second for my outdoor activities. The best part is the front-panel access, and the ease of being able to get into your pack without having to remove it. Being a short girl, Vortex custom made my pack to fit me,TWICE, without any gripes or hesitation...this pack is amazing!

Customer Service

The customer service at Vortex is great, always willing to work with you, never asking questions. When I burnt my pack in the campfire, they patched the hole for free, and I had it back 2 days later!

I recently purchased a 2200 and what can I say. I love this pack! I bought the 2000 model and it has a lot of improvements over previous years. It has two bellows pockets and an internal hydration system which were not available previously. I have used this pack for climbing, hiking, ice fishing, and everything in between and it has been great. I am 6'4" and it has been really hard to find a good day pack that would fit me. The 2200 comes in several different sizes and I found one to fit me perfectly. The best part is the suspension. You get a suspension system that is comparable to that of a full size backpack. It's great when you really want to load it up. The padding is custom contoured to your back and hips making it very comfortable. Another great feature is the innovative panel loading. You get the best of top and panel loading options. There are also enough compression straps and attachment points to attach just about anything to the pack. The warranty is also unbeatable. Overall this is a great pack for just about anybody.

Before I bought the 2200 I did alot of research. I mean ALOT! I looked at every pack I could find, online or in the store, and finally, after about a month, narrowed it down to three choices-The Osprey Scarab, the Arc'Teryx Bora 40, and the Vortex 2200. I decided against the Osprey because the "straight jacket" design wasn't really what I wanted (it looks stupid, yeah, I know personal opinion, and I didn't feel I would use it).
I tried on the Bora 40 and it felt really nice, but it didn't have any way to strap my board on and didn't have the lifetime warranty of the Vortex. My main complaint with Vortex is the lack of dealers...the closest one was about five hundred miles away... so I had no way to try it on. Risky business, but I wasn't disappointed, the fit was comparable or superior to the other two. I'm REALLY hard on packs (I once had a Kelty Sherman, supposed to be tough, and I blew two seams out on it within the first three months I had it), so in the end it was the lifetime unconditional warranty that sold the pack.
