Big Agnes Seedhouse 1 person Tents

Big Agnes Seedhouse 1 person Tents

DESCRIPTION

The Big Agnes Seedhouse Series is comprised of three strong, lightweight backpacking tents that set up quickly using a hub pole design. With enough floor and storage space for even a cowboy to stay comfortable and organized, these tents represent a great weight-to-price value. Based on our original two-person Seedhouse, the 3.5lb Seedhouse 1 is for solo types while the Seedhouse 3 is meant to house couples with a dog or three good friends and features a spacious vestibule. Purchase our separate foot print that attaches to the fly and eliminates the tent body for the fast and light minded. Fast Fly footprint optional on all models and highly recommended.

Big Anges Seedhouse 1. Purchased while needing more comfort on the AT in 2005, May. Good for stary nights - leaving the fly off - and rainy nights - fly on. Bug and crawley thing protection is great. I Haven't had any condensation problems, but then I always bother to pitch the tent correctly - 11 pegs, ultralight pegs do fine. The unit can do free standing when necessary. I have tried other tents but have reverted to this one as the most reliable and comfortable for solo tenting.

Yep, another sweet Big Agnes product. This thing is so light that when two people carry it, I can use my daypack on 3 day trips. With all the mesh I doubt it would hold up to extreme winds, but I ahve been in there when they were whipping at about 35-40 mph. This thing won't leak and condensation hasn't happened yet, even after cold mornings after huge rainstorms. It isn't the roomiest, but two 6 ft plus people can fit, with a little room for small packs, coats, CD players, etc. The only problem is the vestibule is tiny, but it fit my golden retriever and some smaller items so it's all good. If your looking for a ultralight tent that can stand up to jsut about anything, this is your baby.

I spent time picking this out. It is pretty light under 4 pounds and packs down wery small but is very roomy with great head room for a 1 man tent. it is built strong. It is very very easy to set up.The tent stands on its own with the poles but requires plenty of steaking out. I have not used it in heavy rain yet but the fly seems well made and even with the fly on it vents really well. I looked at the sl model it is 1 pound lighter but the material did not look as strong.I rate this tent as a home run for the weight and price. Two LEWIS & CLARK thumbs up!
