This is an coutstanding tent! I loved it so much I purchased a second one. It works well in any weather, and handles wind and rain without a problem. I even had it in an absolute downpore with >5" against the side without a drop of water in the tent. You can't go wrong with this tent.

This is great tent, especially considering that I only paid $70 for it. It does well in moderate winds, but have yet to use it in a downpour only light rain. It vents well for hot summer nights and it plenty of room for two people.

this is a great tent for the price, in fact i don't think it can be beat. i've had it out in the rain and light wind usually found around here in the early spring and the tent kept me dry and held it's shape. this is an ideal tent for the southeast where the '3 seasons' this tent can take you comfortably from march until early november. in the humid summers, this tent vents well especially without the fly. it's great to take to road and off road races as it has decent room for 2 but plenty of room for one person. i would highly recommend this tent to anyone looking for quality beyond it's price.

I love this tent, I use it for going to mountian bike races. It's fairly light and sets up really fast-which is a great thing when the sun is dropping fast. I also like that you can move it with out picking up stakes.

A buddy of mine and I use this tent when we go camping. The last time at Jim Thorpe Mountain Bike Festival the tent worked beautifully. More than enough room for the both of us. A little pricey in my book but I'd rather have it than nothing.

While I mostly backpack, I purchased my Apex a year ago for car camping. The Apex (not to be confused with the Apex XT which has two doors) is available from many retail sources and can often be found on sale (got mine for less than $80). It has 2 equal-length fiberglass poles which makes for easy setup. Venting is adequate with a roof vent and mesh door which can be closed via a door panel. Its also relatively light (5.5ibs w/o stakes) and has good headroom. However, this is not a tent for serious backpacking. The rainfly offers minimal coverage and has no vestibule. The tent fabric is on the thin side and the profile is a tad high - this tent might blow away in the sierras! But for car camping, or situations where weather isn't an issue, no complaints.

I got this tent not too long ago. I've probably only used it a couple times so far. My reason for purchasing it was based on a good review from a magazine and the fact that it was not too expensive. I have the Apex XT model, which at the moment I cannot remember what the difference is between that and the Apex. If you're curious just check out Eureka's website. Basically, this tent is very small, not too heavy, and it's of good quality. this probably falls under the bang for your buck category. It has two doors, one on either side, and both have vestibules. Having two vestibules is great, this way you can store stuff on one side and use the other as your main door. Ventilation is ok with the fly on. Without it though, it is great. Inside there are stash pockets for small valuables, and hook loops for hanging a small flashlight or glowsticks maybe. I would say buy this tent if you're the average outdoors guy/gal who wants quality but doesn't want to break the bank. Note: one more thing, I would highly suggest planning on the two man tent being a one man tent. There is very limited room for two people plus gear for each.

Actually, I use the Apex for solo bicycle touring. I replaced the fiberglass poles with aluminum poles (from Eureka) to cut down on weight. I carried it on an 11-day, 800-mile tour of Tennessee and North Carolina and loved the room. I also carried it on an overnight, rugged single-track mountain bike tour near Mt. St. Helens last year. It may have been a bit heavy for one person under those circumstances, but the comfort and room seemed worth the weight -- better than a bivy sack. Weather-wise, it has held it's own in low-land downpours, but it has not had to stand up to true mountain weather.

Customer Service

I went directly to Eureka to get aluminum poles to replace fibergalss poles -- the customer service people were decent enough.
