Like the others who reviewed this tent, I was looking into a bivy style tent. I use this tent for river trips. It's a great tent. Really stable and dry. The vestibule is a little hard to get used to and you do have to make sure it's taught ( Water will puddle on it), but overall it is a fantasic tent.

....I reserching the wide range of tents for a one person ""bivy"" style shelter I came accross the Eureka Cobra.Product specs call this a two person tent but at 6' 5"" it is just right for my gear and myself. Plenty of length for my long legs and even a bit to spare for extra storage at the end. Set up at first was a bit tricky then became pretty easy after a few times. Fly coverage is more that adequete as I have lasted throught several down pours without a drop inside. Ventilation is good except during the rain where you have to pull the fly over the rear screen to stay dry. Front vestibule is a spacious enough for those dirty boots and other small pieces of gear. Getting in and out of the vestibule is a bit tricky and must be staked ""taught"" in order to prevent a small puddle build up on the outside. All in all I would reccommend the shelter. At the price, weight and all around performance.

Have only used my Eureka Cobra two man tent for one summer and fall season but so far it has been an excellent four season tent. It is easy to set up and the cinch buckels are very functional and stay put through two days of rain. I use my tent for myself and gear only and have lots of room at 5'9"" to tuck most of my gear in with me. Condensation can be a problem with constant rain but the vent in the vestibue helps without losing much space to store gear. Fitting into a in-frame backpack can be a bit of a problem with the 22"" stuff bag and shock poles. Bottom line: Great tent considering weight, price ( mine at $109 ), and functionality.

My back-up tent is a Peak 1 Corba that is on its 3 rd season. This is a very tough and durable two man tent but I would never be caught with someone of my same sex in it, this should be called a one person tent. At just over three lbs. its great for a three season tent and is simple and quick to set up. Thuogh I've never had rain or water from the ground get in condensation can be a problem with no fly ventilation. Still, I consider the Peak 1 Cobra to be a great 3 season backpacking tent.
