Although this tent is too big for backpacking, it is more than ideal for family camping. It comes in a fairly big case and weighs a good 40lbs. I live in Arizona, so the open screened area is perfect for a bunch of kids, or even another family. The poles on mine were very sturdy. No issues at all. And while set up looked a little daunting at first, once I started it was very easy. I didn't require a second set of hands, which was great.

Although I am a backpacker, my family is not so eager to rough it. This Outside Inn product was gifted to us so I am not complaining, but I rate the tent poles as "poor" due to their weak construction and need for nuts and bolts (one pole has bent and the other crimped). I rate set-up as "poor" as well since you will need two other adults to assist you or forget it.

I stayed in this tent with a friend and our sons and had to get one. Use for cub scout camping and it is perfect. Lots of space outside for kids gear and the indoors for our mattresses, bags, gear, etc. Love the outdoor screen area for summer camping in the mountains. Easy to set up by myself, working on getting helf from cub. Highly recommend
