I have the TETRAGON 8, same tent larger version. First let me say that I think Eureka is an excellent brand and a great value. I expect quality in everything I buy and they deliver. The construction is solid. There' s plenty of room, plenty of windows, areas to store smallet items. The tent is EASY to set up even the first time I used it. Would recommend it to anyone!

Have NEVER had to call, think that says a great deal.

Some may think that this tent may be to large and too heavy for backpacking; actually, it's perfect. I have a medium frame build so weight is a factor to me, but sleep comfort and security is just as important.

I found that the Tetragon 7 provided outstanding room, security, and comfort for my wife and I, on a rainy and windy evening in the Taurus Mountains in Turkey. Eureka! listened to avid family backpackers when they designed this tent. Of course there's a little more weight than a simple bivy, but for some, it's an alternative to turn to for comfort.

Our Scout Troop has 8 of these in service for the last 6 years. They get hard use every month of the year. While they performed OK when new, they are far from "Scout proof". We have to force GWA to replace all the zippers with large sizes. I am constantly having to replace zipper slides and splintered poles (did one each today). They are starting to get eaten up by UV. They Troop is moving to Timberline. Too heavy for small boys to backpack.

Customer Service

JWA told me the zipper failures were my fault for having bought their cheap model.

I had reservations about buying this tent because of it's low price ($85). I'm a big believer in getting what you pay for things, but check out this story...
I got the tent in the mail at work and decided to set it up when I got homw to check it out. I set it up and sealed the seams on the rain fly. A friend called and said that there was a tornado warning issued for my area, so what to do? I decided to put the new tent to the test and ride out the storm in it. The winds were 65+mph and the rain was torential. Two trees fell over in the neighbor's yard, but the tent held. Don't get me wrong it was a little scary sometimes but for the most part it was solid. There were a few leaks toward the end of the 3 hour deluge but that was only because water pooled where I didn't make the rain fly taut enough. I am impressed with how this economic tent handled a wicked Florida storm and I feel comfortable about my upcoming trips to the Smokies and Canadian Rockies.
The downside of it is that its a little bulky for one person to carry for an extended period, but if you divy out the poles and fly to some friends it'll be no sweat for a 3-5 day hike

Tetragon 7 is a great tent for 2 adults and 1 child. It is lightweight and will keep you dry in the rain. It has an easy assembly for quick put ups.

This tent is more for car camping. I myself, am more of a minimalist, so this tent is too big and too heavy for backpacking even with spliting it up with tent partners. This clip on pole system is great and helps in rush situations such as rain. If you like car camping this is your tent.
