Nice tent for the price. Haven't taken in extreme weather though. Not really a four-man tent. Eureka makes good products.

I have had mine since 1980 (still in use). It has endured thunderstorms in the Fla Keys, AZ and TN mountains without leaking. It is easy to set up, comfortable for 2-3. Heavy for backpacking unless you split it up with 3. For the money it is a great tent.

Have used the four man Timberline for twenty years and although its a bit ragged now this tent has never let me down in any weather.Set up is easy.Tip, set all the poles down together and the longest goes in the middle.Remember a four man tent makes a great two man tent so don't expect it to be roomy with four people. On one occasion I forgot the poles and when tied between two trees I didn't miss the poles at all.

These tents are fine for car camping in mild weather but they are extremely heavy for backpacking. So what if they say they are 4 person tents, in truth only 2-3 fit comfortably. The tent packs down too big and doesn't go in a pack well. They're fine for Boy Scouts, but I would never take one backpacking.

This is a good tent that will last for many years. I used them for seven years with my scout troop and never had a problem with either durability or weatherproofness. Maybe a bit small for four adults, bit fine for three. It may seem heavy for backacking, but divided amongst three people it is less than three pounds each, which is fine. If that is too heavy, lose some more weight off your midsection. Though not the most technically featured tent, it is a good choice for most recreational campers and backpackers.
