I have had 3 Kelty tents and enjoyed them all. A few years ago I bought the Assault tent to replace my Kelty Cyclone because it was so much lighter, about 3lbs less. I have loved it. It is very storm proof and durable. Some tents out there may be lighter, which is good for general backpacking, but if going into area where there is snow or storms are a concern the Assault is the perfect tent. It is much lighter than other 4 season tents at only 5 lbs. Mine has held up perfectly during stormy encounters. A great product. I only wish kelty still made it.

Kelty's Assault tent is a well designed, four-season, light-weight (5 lbs. 2 oz.)tent for solo or two people. However, the quality was very poor. Sent the first tent back because of a hole in the floor of the tent; and sent the second tent back for another hole in the floor of the tent, a section of the tent canopy sagged due to poor stitching, and the rainfly did not fit very tight. Not worth the sale price of $340.00, but definitely not worth the retail price of $450.00.

After sending the second Assault tent back, I decided to purchase a Moss Hooped Outland.
