The Riverbend 2 is just right in size for two people... if you leave your gear outside. The vestibule is really only good for keeping boots dry at night. Zero intrusion of rain. This tent is well made and sets up in a hurry. Floor is lightly constructed, so a footprint was used.

Roomy, light, and easy to set up. The UV resistant fly is especially good here in the islands. Not bad on ventilation. I wouldn't want to use it in the snow though.

I got this tent for a steal at $140, and it was one of the smartest
purchases I've ever made. So far I've taken it out in two major
downpours and wind gusts at over 35 m.p.h. While my friends' tents
were flooding and collapsing, my tent was sturdy and very
waterproof. It's easy to set up and take down, and is a great buy
overall. "Riverbend 4" is a misnomer, though, because it will only
fit two adults, plus their gear, comfortably.

Got this (3/person) tent for some car camping, Spring & Fall, with occasional backpacking trips (Summer, Winter). Set it up to seam seal and found every seam hot taped. Setup is very easy and tent setus up taut. Fly (& floor) is thickly waterproofed (1800mm) with several reinforced guy-out points, 2 windows, a vestibule zip-vent/opening and a high rainproof fly vent. Great layout, lot's of headroom, good colors and very ergonomic connectors/zippers/tie-offs. Dividing tent into 2 packets =@ 3.8# each...not too bad for a LARGE 2 person or friendly 3 person backpacking shelter. Good value on sale for @ $225 US.

This is a great tent for the money. I took it on a solo trip for the first time, and it set up without a problem. The tent's design is well thought-out and it pitches tautly.
the only stake needed is for the vestibule.

I went to Montana to visit a friend who had just bought the Riverbend 3 Webforce, somewhat different than the 2 listed in this thread of reviews (HINT HINT UPDATE?)

Anyway, I have never been camping really before, and this tent was SO SIMPLE to set up- really a no brainer. The no see um mesh on the roof lets you see up at the sky, a feature i really like. The eclipse windows and door also let you see a lot, but still feel like you are in a nice little den. No bugs go in, and it did start to rain, though we remained bone dry.

So roomy also. And even though it doesnt really matter, this is one good looking tent- colors etc and overall appearance! The fact that it is white primarily, makes the inside brighter than say a dark khaki tent.

I do wish the rainfly had some clear panels so you can see out somewhat. Or that it had some way to open at the side, for when the rain is really just a shower.

I got my Riverbend 2 on Sale and I absolutely Love this tent! It is one of the quickest tents to set up I've ever seen. There is an ample amount of mesh, giving plenty of ventilation in the summer, and great views of the stars. The rain fly is quick and easy to flip on (at 4am in the rain)... The aluminum poles are nice and light.

Downsides: 2 people are pretty tight, unless you really like each other and leave your gear outside. You have to pull a steak if you want to open the vestibule. There is no gear loft.

I have had the Riverbend 2 for about a year. I needed a tent for two people and gear but it had to be reasonably priced. After a lot of reasearch I found
this tent to have a lot more floor space than most 2-man tents costing twice as much. The weight is not too bad
when you split it between 2 people(a little less than 3.5 lbs each). There is enough room for 2 people and gear,
I'm 6'-2" and there is even plenty of room to sit up. I haven't used it in a downpour yet but if you take time to seal the seams any tent should do fine in a heavy rain. This tent holds up very well in heavy winds when you use the guy lines. This tent should do well for anyone looking for a two man tent.
I wouldn't recomend it for one person because of the weight, but for 2 it's just right because you can split it up
and let each person carry half. If you need a one man tent, get a Kelty Zen. Overall the Kelty Riverbend 2 ia a great 2-man tent for the price.

Customer Service

I haven't had a need to use the customer service, the tent is made of quality materials and is well made and I don't expect to have to contact them.

Bought the Riverbend 3 last summer from Cabela's for a deal (same price as the fiberglass Streamside 3 version). Needed a real tent after a rainstorm soaked my wife and me out of our old tent. Improvements over the old tent were the aluminum poles (no more tieing the tent to a tree to keep it from collapsing in the wind) vs fiberglass, and the rain fly is tight and close enough to the ground to prevent pooling of water and leaking as well as splashing of rain under the rainfly. A queen sized air mattress fits perfectly in the back of the tent leaving just enough room for the two of us the spaniel and the gear. In the morning, it folds up in to a small package which fits into a wet sack and stows in a kayak without adding a lot of weight. So far it has stood up to weather and the occasional drunk guy falling on it(very sturdy). In busy camp sites, I would recommend the triptease rain fly cords to help people not trip over the rainfly cords at night (they reflect).

I recommend this tent to anyone who is willing to spend a more than $50 at walmart on a tent to be comfortable. If it is always nice when you camp, you can probably get away with a $50 tent. This is a serious campers tent, but not at a seriously high price.

I bought this tent after having my North Face Slickrock destroyed by a bear in Sequoia National Park 2 years ago. I found it on sale for a great price(i think around $160.00)! This tent is an absolute breeze to set up, and has withstood the wind and rain of at least 15 national parks. My one gripe would be that there is nowhere to hang anything inside. The vestibule is large enough to store boots and smaller things, but not large enough for packs.
A great tent for two people!!! (and by the way, no i didn't have food in my tent)
