We purchased three Kelty Vortex 4 tents for our Boy Scout troop in 1997, and they have held up very well, despite heavy use by 11-17 year old boys. They are roomier than the Eureka Alpine Meadows tents we have also used, and weigh less. Although they are still a bit large and heavy for backpacking, we have used them for this purpose, with three boys sharing each tent. The built-in vestibule flaps are large enough to cover an average-sized backpack, or several pairs of muddy boots. We all appreciate the almost-square floor, and the gear lofts come in hand for drying damp socks overnight. The ease of set-up is a nice touch, especially for younger boys, or anyone in a hurry. Rated for four, they sleep two plus gear comfortably, or 3-4 without gear.

This tent is great for car camping with the family. Tons of room, extremely easy set-up. Fits two adults and two young kids with out a problem. Well worth the price.

Perfect tent for camping at bike races, though a bit large for packing, though I've done it. Fits lots o' gear, 2 humans and a large Malamute with room to spare. No problems whatsoever, and set-up is a snap, even in the dark when your headlamp burns out.

A great three season tent from a company with a reliable reputation. The tent is a bit pricy, but I am a firm beleiver in you get what you pay for. The tent is very roomy and sets up fast and easy.

Simple setup. Extremely stable when staked down in high wind. Set through mutliple severe storms with high winds extimated at 90 mph in area. Kept dry from rain. Excellent ventilation, particulary w/o fly. Slept 3 large adults comfortably.

THIS TENT OFFERS BOTH QUALITY AND RELIABILITY.IT ALLOWS FOR QUIK AND EASY SET-UP, EVEN IN THE DARK. IT HAS KEPT US DRY IN SOME LONG AND HEAVY DOWN POURS AND SUPPLIED ADEQUATE VENTILATION. THIS IS A NICE TENT!

I love this tent. We camped in it for four months on our honeymoon in Europe. It has stood the test of time. We have had it for four years and use it more than you can imagine. It sets up incredibly easy and the vortex design allows for excellent air circulation. Only complaint is the weight. It is a little heavy for extended hiking trips

Great tent for weight and cost. Easy to assemble, rain shield works great, and the ventilation is superb. A bit thin though and easy to stain.

Great backpacking tent for our family. We can sleep two adults and a 10 and 12 year old. Is roomy for 3 adults. Best part is the large built in vestibles. provides a ton of room on both sides. Two door feature is nice also. Very durable for its weight which is about 8 lbs. A better option then carrying two, 2-man tents. We have a little problem with ventilation. Found you need to keep the lower door cracked sometimes to aviod condensation in the corners. A minor problem considering all the positives.
