I have to say that after having used a large variety of tents in my life, this Marmot Screech is the best hands down. Having double doors, both of which are very large, makes it easy to get in and out of the tent without waking up a companion. As well, the tent setup is very quick and easy, and I've been able to put the tent up in a couple minutes in very dark cold conditions (getting stuck is no fun!).

I'm about 6'3, and i've never encounted any issues with the length of the tent at all. THere are a number of internal pockets which are great for storing light anywhere matches etc.

Overall i'd say this is the best gift I've ever received =)

This was my first real tent purhase, so I checked out a lot of review websites to make sure I would be happy with my purchase. I went with the Marmot Screech, and am very happy with the outcome. I'm a tall guy (6'3"), and anyone looking at the specs can see this tent has a fairly roomy interior. Yeah, a true expedition backpacker would scoff at the need to sit up in a tent, but if you are big and need the extra space, the extra pound of weight is well worth it. The tent is a breeze to set up, and is the easiest tent to pack that I have ever seen thanks to Marmot's burrito bag.

The tent performed well: I was in the Rockies where it was fairly windy, but the tent didn't sway or move at all. I have not yet tested it in the rain, but aside from the problems already mentioned in the previous review I expect no problems. I usally hike/camp in the summer, and the huge mesh roof is well suited to my needs, as the air flow keeps the interior very cool.

Other pros: large vestibule, plethora of interior pockets, extra vent at rear of tent, colour is not hideous to the eye(!), front door flap is huge if needed (opens up entire side of tent, allowing easy access)
Other cons: zip on fly sheet can become caught if only one hand is used. Didn't damage the tent, but took a couple minutes to un-jam. Marmot's lack of instructional guidance: it's easy to figure out the basics, though.

Bottom line: if you're looking for a well made tent that will stand up to the elements, and you mainly hike spring to autumn, this is a great choice.

Customer Service

I called up while shopping around for tents and had a conversation with the salesman. He had used the tent and was able to help me decide on wether it was the right tent for me. Best of all, he didn't try and sell the tent to me. No problems wiht the tent as yet, but the lifetime guarentee should keep me happy.

This Marmot tent is another great design by a wonderfull company. I was very pleased with all the neat little features they added. The stuff sack turns into a gear loft. The Vestibule has many great uses. Very roomy inside for a two person tent, Ive even had three in it before. Plenty of storage pockets all around the inside to give you the max. floor space, and keep everything organized. Very nice buy!:)

Customer Service

Marmot has a great customer service to back up all their products. If you dont like somthing send it back, its that simple.
