Just bought this tent for $198.00 on sale. I set it up in the back yard to check it out then sent it back. The tent body sets up very taunt and is very sturdy. The sides of the tent are some sort of parabolic curve and take away from the useable space in the tent (which is small to begin with). I bought it for occasional two person with my girlfirend (who is only about 5' tall) but we couldn't fit without having our bodies pressed against the mesh. The 'vestibule' too tiny for anything. The door slopes at a wierd angle and would soak the inside of the tent while entering and exiting in the rain. The one pole is nice and light but the fabric of the fly more than makes up for any weight savings...also has lots of buckles and clips which are overengineered and add weight. Also the stuff sacks were too heavy. Overall I think it is a neat design concept that was executed poorly.

Like the first review (Mo) says, it's very well made, quality throughout; tempered aluminum stakes don't bend when you step on them. A nice one-person size, packs small, fairly light. MUCH more comfortable than "bivy-style" tents (Eureka Solitaire) which are like coffins and have no room for gear inside. But two people can't fit comfortably inside unless they are short and in love.

I've had the Helix for a couple of years now, and it's a fantastic little tent for summer camping. It's great without the fly on dry, buggy nights because of its copious mesh, it's easy to set up, it's *very* high quality, fairly light and tall enough to be comfortable. If you do much solo backpacking in buggy places, consider this tent. It's big enough to be comfortable for one person and it's fairly light.
