This tent is a great tent. I have found it holds up really well in all sorts of weather and is incredibly easy to set up quickly by yourself. I use some shoelaces as extended loops on the sides of the tent to get the best ventilation I can because in certain cold or humid conditions you can get some condensation. I really like the gear shelf above the door. It holds a surprising amount of gear. All in all a very good tent.

After a few years of use, one of my poles developed a small crack. I sent that pole in to Mountain Hardware hoping they would either fix it, or preferentially, replace it. I was pleasantly surprised when I promptly received a full set of new poles in the mail. Free of charge. No questions asked. That's what I call good customer service.

Mec Tents- I don't like them as much because of the small gear pockets inside and the style of clip is not as fast to set up and take down as the Mountain Hardware tents.

This was the first tent I ever purchased, only because it was on sale. Needless to say that I got lucky and made an excellent choice. I now am a Mountain Hardwear geek. Back to the tent: Awesome quality, durability, taped seams are great, Easton Aluminum poles are nice. The only thing that could hold this tent back is that it is not convertable.

One of the best two man tents that I could find for the space to weight ratio. This tent held up very well to large gusts (30-40MPH) considering it is only a 2 pole + brow pole design. The tent also vents very well and condensation was not a problem. The only thing I did not like about the tent is that the door is all mesh and the vestibule serve as the "hard" door. During the wind, dust blows up under the vestibule and the finer particles get in the tent covering your bag, etc with a fine powder.

This is my first tent purchase. I also searched the web and followed advice of the store salesman. I took this tent on a 2 week motorcycle tour. It set up and broke down very nicely. It withstood wind and rain and remained dry. It provided ventilation when needed by staking out the fly. I liked the storage areas, loops, pockets, and large vestibule.

I used the fly and footprint everytime I set the tent up. I had no condensation at all. On warm days I left the fly door open with the rear section of the fly staked out. I was careful to set up so the breeze could enter the front door and was very comfortable. On colder days in the Black Hills at altitude, I shut the fly door except for a small portion at the top and experienced no condensation.

The tent is rated as two person, 3 season. I had tons of room for myself and much more gear than a hiker/backpacker would carry. Like rainsuits, saddlebags, etc. If you are over 6' 3" or so, this tent not be long enough for you. It was just about right for me and I'm 6' 1". Two people will be snug in this tent but there is enough room.

I think Mountain Hardware makes excellent stuff. I plan to use the tent for bicycle touring and backpacking. The cost is a little higher than similiar models from other manufacturers. However if the tent holds up like it should, it is still an excellent value. I got a break on the price by buying a sleeping bag, tent, and sleeping pad package. They even threw in the footprint.

I like my tent.

Best tent I have ever owned. It is easy to set up, very comfortable for one even luxurious, extremely well made with great convenience features, huge/useful vestibule, and fairly light weight for a free standing tent of its size. My only comment is I wish it was a pound lighter & about a third smaller packed. I have had it on several backpacking trips over 3 years & it as performed flawlessly in all kinds of weather including heavy rain & wind wit no problems. It is a little high in price but worth every penny since its construction will cause it to last with reasonable treatment many years. If you have a first class pack, the weight will be no problem to carry (I have a Dana Alpine). I have the footprint for the tent which I recommend to protect the floor & to make taking down the tent in wet conditions very easy since the poles & fly can stay up keeping the tent body dry for your pack-ever pack a wet tent body? Also tried it with just the fly & poles for light weight packing in dry & relatively bug less weather-it is about 3 pounds lighter & half the volume ths way. If you are going to share it with another person-you may want the larger version.

It's light and easy to put up, fairly versatile for the type of tent, I have even had it in bad weather without a problem. The problem is the bases are not durable enough, you have to carry an extra tarp layer for uner it, or you'll get condensation and maybe even water inside, other than that it;s typically great mountain hardwear gear

I HAVE USED THIS TENT FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS, IN ALL WEATHER EXCEPT HEAVY SNOW, IT HAS HELD TOGETHER IN THE MOST EXTREME WIND DRIVEN RAIN I HAVE EXPERIENCED . THE ONLY NEGATIVE COMMENT I HAVE IS THERE IS NO FULL DOOR, ONLY A SCREEN, IN THE DESERT I HAVE HAD MY TENT FILL WITH THE FINEST SAND THAT THE NETTING WILL ALLOW THROUGH.

Have had this tent for 3 months. Got a few long weekends hikes in and some lazy beach camping aswell. the tent is cool, light, easy to throw up and just right (so far) for the semi northern californian weather.

Customer Service

the main reason i bought this tent was due to my previous experience with Mountain Hardwears customer service when repairing my friends jacket. and its a cool tent.
