My fiancee and I went camping in Wisconsin with 10 other friends, all of us planning to relax and do a little tubing down the river. We arrived late, so our first real-life tent setup of our brand-new A Room With A View Tent was done in almost complete darkenss. Absolutely no problems - in 10 minutes we were stashing gear into the tent, just in time to avoid the light-medium drizzle that was starting to fall from the sky. The drizzle lasted all night, coating everything in the campground. no problem for the RwaV tent - we stayed bone dry, with plenty of air ventilation to keep us comfortable.

The REAL test came the next night. Around 10:00pm the heavy drops started to fall, sending everyone to their tents. Over the next 3 hours, we witnessed a massive thuderstorm roll over us (We later heard that the town 2 miles from us had 5" of standing water, with 40mph winds). Our tent swayed with the gusts, and we could feel the water flowing freely underneathe the tent (Our campsite was probably the worst location I've ever had - downhill, in a gully.. it was the only site available) and even though it sounded like thousands of marbles dropping on the rainfly, we curled up and went to sleep, amidst lightning strikes that occurred 2 time a second.

We awoke the next morning to find tarps blown around, half the campers gone, and 4 out of the 6 tents in our group had POOLS of water in them. We stayed completely dry except for a little misting where the force of the rain had splashed up off the ground and up towards the netting - easily wiped away, though. I'll never forget what I saw as I unstaked and lifted out tent though - it wasn't rain that had flowed underneath us, but a sludge of mud and sand that started 30 feet up the hill from us, under us, then down another 50 feet or so. I had to carefully peel the groundsheet off the tent, as to not distribute the layer of mud gluing them together. But again, the RwaV kept us dry, comfortable, and has turned us both into MH fanatics. The RwaV turned what could have been a cold and miserable weekend into a a comfortable and happy one!!!!

Out of the box (no seam sealing) this tent survived 1.5" of rain in a fairly low campground. I could feel a pretty substantial river flowing under the tent during the night, but none of that water entered. Excellent product. Easily set up quickly by one person.

great tent. Held up on top of Mt Franklin in 40-50 mph winds. Overall a great deal for the money.

This tent served me well throughout a six week long trek in Australia as well as a week long trip in Arizona. The tent has good headroom, floor layout, and the windows are nice. There are some other nice features such as the zip that allows you to pull down the rainfly from the inside if it starts raining. The tent is very sturdy in high wind and the rainfly works well providing you know how to seal it. My only problems are with ventilation (I'm sure they could have put a vent on top of the fly) and the vestibule which is small and next to useless if you can't get a stake in the ground.

Went on a weekend trip with two buddies. The three of us weatered a pretty intenze storm in this tent. Tent didn't leak at all and kept us dry through the night. Rain turned to snow and we woke up with four inches in the morning. Withstood heavy winds also. This is a great tent. Don't know much about the price, it was my friends tent.

I am very satifified. A bit expensive for my taste, but our first trip we pithed the tent in the rain at night with no problem. The three of us (two adults and one dog) slept dry and warm. Lots of features and roomy. The only beef I have is the lack or front door for privacy although with the rain fly there is plenty of ventilation.

Fits my wife, two dogs, a cooler, our gear, myself and still enough room to move. Awesome!!! A bit heavy, but nonetheless a great tent. Keep in mind that the good designers from the ""old North Face"" shop now work for Mtn. Hardware...or so I've heard

This tent was a blessing on hot and humid Nebraska nights. All of the mesh provided a well-ventilated home with tons of space for two people and all of our stuff. If you plan to use it in late fall or early spring, make sure you have a warm bag, because all of that mesh doesn't keep the heat in when you want it. Clips make pitching the tent super fast and easy. I haven't had it in any bad rain storms yet, but for as much time as I had to spend sealing the rainfly, it had better not leak!

The Room with a view is a very wonderful tent! I have used Sierra Designs and North Face before buying the Mountain Hardwear. This Room With A View is a bit heavier than some tents but well worth the extra weight. For two people the Tent is large enought to put all our gear inside, which is what I prefer. In a total deluge of a rain storm there were no leaks at all(after seam sealing). I love the window in the rainfly! Got to watch some Russian Boars foraging in the Smokey Mountains through it, a lot better than wondering what they are doing. A good value and a great tent.

What a piece of crap! This tent leaks like a dripping faucet! Seam-sealed the tent three times after my initial purchase. After my fist ten-day backpacking trip, I was very dissappointed. That stupid window on top of the fly is a terrible design. Sent the tent back for a new one...Mountain Hardware sent me a new fly...same problems continuted!!! Wanted a refund...that was a joke! Sent the tent back for a third time and finally had to sell it used with a brand new fly. Big mistake on my part...I should have gone with my gut instincts and purchased a Sierra Designs!!!!

Customer Service

terrible service. All they did was replace my fly three times and refused to give me a refund.
