This is an excellent tent. I have used one for the past 3-4 years, and it is unfailing in keeping rain/snow/sleet on the side it belongs. Nice and taut when pitched, which averages 5-8 minutes solo. Tons of room. Seriously, tons of room. It is a few pounds heavier than I would like, but it's weight well worth carrying. Girlfriend 1.0 , Dog 2.0 and I with all gear inside, no problem. This tent costs a bit more than some of the competition, but what is more important at 2 am in a gale than your portable castle?

I bought this tent a couple of years ago and have gotten excellent use out of it. I've used this tent on week long trips in the Rocky Mountains and High Uintahs and spent countless trips in the desert regions of Southern Utah. This tent has performed well in those hot summer nights or those cold, freezing rain / hail storms and everything in between. When I first purchased the tent, I thought it was a bit pricey, but now I have witnessed the obvious value in its performance. If your looking for a good all around tent, and don't mind a little extra weight - this is the one for you.

A great convertible tent. Used it in Alaska and it didn't have any leaks thru heavy rain, stood up to 60 mph + winds, and snow load. The floor layout is a little strange but for 3 short people it would probably work. The center of the tent has a bit of a flat spot that could cause some concern, but I really don't think it's a big enough spot to allow a significant amount of snow to build up. Tent and fly come in one bag, but stuffsacks are a fix for this. Internal guy system is definitely a plus. A bit heavy but I suppose it's a tradeoff for lots of space and heavy duty fabrics.

Very easy and quick to setup. Very roomy inside for 2-3 adults. A pound or two heavy for backpacking but well worth it when the weather turns.

Took 2 of these, 2 North Face Stratos, and a perigine on trip with 12 people last summer. The Shyview was the clear favorite, pretty easy to set up, lots of floor space for 3 14 y/o boys. And easy to break down on sleepy campers when they won't get up.
