Its areodynamic design allows it to take high winds and surprise spring snowstorms without complaint. And with plenty of mesh panels in the canopy its breezy enough for warm-weather use.

Pros: bombproof, great for snow camping (especially pastpack and dig a basin in the snow), very lightweight, convertible for summer. I''ve used this tent for all backpacking scenes, from desert to alpine, good weather and bad, summer and winter. Weighs under 6 pounds without the footprint, unbelievably strong. In bad weather, the cheery colors make a big difference. And its easy to see from far away. As a one-person tent, its a mansion, and I love having it all to myself. Would rather carry the extra weight than use a weaker one-person ultralight. Cons: Although many tents with under 30 square feet are considered "2-person," I''ve learned through using this tent that such a small tent (especially such a low profile one) is only good for small people or one big person. My fiance and I are about 6 feet, and we fill the tent end to end and can''t sit up straight in it. That''s my only complaint.

great shelter! spent a week in gila national forest, trenchial rain every day. no leaks!. and thats without using the seam sealer. 4 season tent, temps ranging in the 70's and 80's in the park, the ventilation was perfect. thought i'd be burning up with the rain fly. bringing the entire pack weight did not affect me. spacious, and high canopy make this tent the creme de la creme for any 4 season climber. the footprint is a must, just to give it the extra longevity.

Despite the fact that MHW only recommends this tent for extended 3 season use the design is fantastic for full on winter use. The only reason I bought it was for extended ski tours in winter conditions. It's super light, provides good protection and doesn't come with any extra frills that cost an extra 3lbs. If you're looking to save weight and want a bommer little tent this is it. I wouldn't count on it for lots of summer use unless you spend time where there are perfect tent pads of soft ground. The only other product I would consider when buying this tent is something like the BD Megamid.

This is a great tent. I bought it because i wanted a light weight tent that could take me into the fourth season. So far it has worked very well camping on Mt. Evans in snow storm. Great also as a summer tent with the cieling panel unzipped, although leaving this at home like Mtn. Hardwear recomends in the summer only lightens the load minimally. NOT free standing, so highly recomend the snow and sand anchors from Mtn. Hardwear to guy out the tent in soft ground areas.
